Lots of schadenfreude going around in the anti-gold camp. I think there is an obvious lack of trust in the system that gold bulls have that threatens those people still entrenched in that very same system. No need to enjoy the suffering of others though, regardless of one's camp.

Here's what gold bears don't get: Most Gold bulls are in this for the long game, so a 2 week, 2 month, or 2 year slide is not even enough for most of us to even think about liquidating. We are not concerned with your thesis. By the time I cash out of my gold position, the author will probably no longer be an author, and SA will not be around...Gold is money, and it is an asset class to be part of several others. It's called diversification.

Real money is something backed by something of value. Gold and silver have served that purpose longer than fiat money has been around. Fiat money is debt. The world doesn't have to end for me to have metals. You keep your paper, I'll keep my metals. In 10-20 years we'll see who has buying power.
