Indpendent investor. Ph.D. Psychology, 1986. Been trading for 20+ years. Investing now for pre-retirement so when the time comes I can easily transition to living off the portfolio. Major interests are in dividend and income producing securities with a smaller portion invested for growth. Interested in the "Daily Paycheck" concept where I can live off the dividends in retirement. Also interested in capital preservation strategies. In addition to managing my own retirement accounts, I spent about five years as a financial representative helping individuals and small businesses with retirement and insurance plans. I transitioned from mutual funds to individual stocks and today invest about 50/50 individual stocks and ETFs. ETFs have been created for just about any strategy one can imagine and often at very low cost. I also studied William O'Neill's approach to momentum investing, using charts and minimizing losses and try to follow his approach. I usually subscribe to one or two investment newsletters to help keep me on track.
