  • Market Implications Of A Republican Takeover Of The Senate [View article]
    Excellent analysis Bret ......

Many thanks for all your very informative articles .
I find a definite void in the media today, the " talking heads " are only giving us
" sanitized drivel " . You on the other hand are giving us " the rest of the story " , as Paul Harvey would say .

Again thank you for all your efforts , it is very much appreciated .

One very interesting fact about Mountainview Energy is that it is ~62 % owned by insiders . I like investing in stocks that have serious insider holders .

  • Are Key Investors Abandoning Kodiak? [View article]
    Good article .
As a long term holder of KOG I am focused on the their excellent yearly production increases , less on what the 24 %
of the float is doing . With 76 % of Float Held by Institutional & Mutual Fund Owners ( who probably know more of what's going on at KOG ) , I can wait another couple of years for an eventual buyout at a " true value price " ,
Thanks for your current analysis of KOG

Bret , many thanks for all you do for all investors . I only wish the detractors who do not wish to benefit by your sage counsel , just leave and quit polluting these boards . I wish we had an ignore button on SA ,so we do not lose all the good posters that will tire of those that drone on negatively ad infinitum . Again many thanks for all that you do for us .

I don't think the major oils , like Exxon , Statoil , Marathon and others would be investing in all the shale plays if the economics did not work !

Yes ! I owned XTO (until Exxon buyout ) ....This is from XTO website :
    Low-Risk, High-Return Strategy

XTO Energy and Exxon Mobil Corporation have formed a new organization to manage global development of unconventional resources. This agreement brings together two highly complementary organizations whose combined strengths will deliver strong shareholder value and open new opportunities for the production of clean-burning natural gas. It will support our nation's economic recovery, strengthen our energy security, and help meet our environmental goals.

XTO will continue to do the things that have made us so successful. Our experience and expertise helped guide us to acquire the best reservoir rock, and our utilization of the newest technologies, operational innovations and old-fashioned hard work played a role in finding untapped reserves. Going forward, XTO will have a much larger horizon in which to apply our skills and technical expertise. Together with ExxonMobil’s advanced research & development and operational capabilities, global scale and financial capacity, we will enable development of additional supplies of unconventional oil and gas resources, benefiting consumers both here in the United States and around the world.

Marcus......I would avoid Harken ! I have owned it for many years and it continues to go down matter how many plans they come up with ...the stock always goes down !........ I have endured their reverse splits only to see the stock go down to new lows again.......I have attended their annual meetings in the distant past .....and they always have a plan......but it never seems to work out ......Look at a long term chart and you will see an incredible decline over time !!!!
