  • Hain Celestial Is Due A Stellar But Unsurprising Quarter [View article]
Thanks for the good charts. You highlighted some interesting comparisons that I don't tend to track.

What chance do you think there is that Hain will be acquired by an old school packaged food company like General Mills?

  • Dolby: You Can't Argue With 90% Margins [View article]
Dolby has always been an interesting tech company, producing some great innovations. But the stock has no following, and I don't understand why this is. Trading volumes are consistently low. I got into DLB in 2012 and made a little bit, thankfully getting out before this last quarter's report sank it (for no good reason, as the author points out). I'm tempted to get back in because I like the company, but the stock seems to march to its own drummer, a drummer that doesn't seem to be in step with the underlying fundamentals. Perhaps if a greater number of analysts got interested in covering it, there would be more promise. Yahoo Finance records just 3 analysts following. Anyway, great article, thanks; I'll keep DLB on my radar screen.

  • Diamond Foods' Change In Estimate: Accounting Red Flag? [View article]
Analytics: Thank you for the clarification. I re-read the article, keeping in mind the explanation you presented in your comment reply. As an editorial suggestion, I think the information in your comment reply could have been posted right up front in the article. It would have made your intent much more clear, at least to me.

But now I get it: read company disclosures much more carefully! Thank you.

  • Tesla's Planned Domination Of Planet Earth Continues On Or Ahead Of Schedule [View article]
QTR: thanks for the update on the supercharger stations. You provided these stats: "More than 11 million kilometers have been charged by Tesla Superchargers and nearly 1.13 million liters of gas have been offset."

I think it would be interesting to track this metric on a monthly basis, across all locations. I looked for it on Tesla Motors website but perhaps didn't dig deep enough to find it.

  • Make Way For Russia's Impending Shale Oil Boom [View article]
There's another way to invest in this potential "boom" and that's by buying a Russian ETF. I'm invested in ERUS, waiting for my little Russian ship to come in, so to speak. The top holding in ERUS is Gazprom at 19.23% of assets, and Rosneft at 4.65%.

  • Why Facebook Will Definitely, Surely, Assuredly, Certainly Not Be Trading At $58 When 2015 Starts [View article]
Raven: Having read a few of your articles on this approach, I'm curious to know if you allocate a percentage of your portfolio funds to long straddles in momo stocks? And what is your management strategy once you are in a long straddle? For example, if you get an early move and see a large profit develop quickly, do you exit the trade or do you stay in until expiration? Thanks.

  • Broadcom: Intrinsic Value $40 Per Share, 37% Upside Potential [View article]
I'm long NVDA as well but just discovered I hadn't entered it in my SA portfolio. I've been missing out on some good articles! Will look forward to your next one.

  • Broadcom: Intrinsic Value $40 Per Share, 37% Upside Potential [View article]
Ashraf: Any chance you'd consider doing an article on Nvidia? The company was such a compelling story for some years, then, like Broadcom, fell off the cliff. It's star looks to be a bit shinier lately. Playing the chip game in the market has not been easy for me. This year there have certainly been some standouts in the crowd (MU, SWI, and those the author mentions). But trying to bank on the solid name workhorses has been a losing proposition for the last few years. Do we have a rotation going on now back into some unfavored names?
.... nice article by Achilles, thanks. Lots of good press for BRCM lately. Maybe I can get back to even. :-)

  • Al Michaels & Chris Collinsworth: Market Forecasters? [View article]
Peter: I always appreciate your articles. Your explanations of how things work in the world I stepped into are very helpful to me as I consider my trades. I've recently begun to apply sports overlays to trading. Politics, sports, and trading seem built on similar constructs: advantage, decisive action, spotting the opening, outsmarting the other side, etc. The only competitive sport I played and know was tennis, so I'm trying to wait for the percentage shots in my trading. Thanks again. ~k

  • Abbott Laboratories - Investors Are Applauding A 57% Dividend Hike [View article]
....I hear that prison is quite nice. 3 meals a day, gym, doctors....

ABT got a nice upgrade to $48 from Jefferies today and it's not reacting. It had such a big move last week. Maybe it's consolidating around $37.

I'm debating BMY over ABT. Not sure I trust abbott's management quite yet. BMY is morphing into a sexy biotech. Any opinions?

  • What Visa Can Buy For You [View article]
Oh, of course, doh! Thanks for pointing out the obvious, Rootarmo. I also see that Intuit has made an integration deal with Square that, while not yet streamlined, allows users to input card transactions into QuickBooks. If more Square users = more upside for Visa, I'm ok with that.
