  • Is Prospect Capital Ready For Rising Rates? [View article]
i know EXACTLY why docpvh wrote what he wrote and said what he said. SA has had a bad history of running with the those attempting to short or in some way manipulate the market on several stocks that I own to no good end. I believe you when you say you are long PSEC but who really knows.
PSEC was "trapped" by short sellers in an article earlier in the year, and the lawyers we at its heals, all a prevarication.

i agree completely with you. They did say more interest spread is a good thing. Here its not? But its a free country and if someone wants to take either side of the arguement they are free to do do. I questioned this BB on one of the last PSEC articles.

  • Is Prospect Capital Ready For Rising Rates? [View article]
i read an article last year that said the exact opposite. PSEC lines of credit were long term, and relatively fixed, whereas the amount it charged to its customer is variable.
Making it somewhat advantageous to PSEC for rates to go up.

  • Prospect Capital: A 12% Yield Trading Under NAV [View article]
Correct me if i am wrong psec stopped the atm because the price was below nav. I only say this because i read it somewhere on SA (LOL). What is "safe"? You miss your earnings you take a10% hit on the stock price. Also correct me but they are obliged by their tax structure to return most of the profits to the shareholders. Not retain it like a normal corporation, handing low or 0% dividends keeping the rest for things like reinvestment (not a bad thing) which allows them to accumulate the stock holder equity and not paying dividends. Because of this structure isnt PSEC more of what Cramer would call an accidental high yield? Most companies have an internal rate of return which would be considered "hi yield" if handed directly to shareholders as a dividend? I didnt mean to impune your integrity btw I am sure you are impartial

  • Prospect Capital: A 12% Yield Trading Under NAV [View article]
if you own it you are inclined to push it. If you short it you are inclined to dump on it
thats all i'm saying. I have read alot of these sa stories and think hey this is great... my stock is being pumped, then i look and see that the author is long on the stock.
one of the last authors was a nicholas fan. He didnt like the takeover so thats all he wrote about. I suppose if you take this sa for entertainment value (and with a grain of salt) then happy reading. I admit i am still sore about the manipulation of the psec by the sa writers and their attorneys trying to short the stock.

ok so you (seeking alpha) let up on PSEC (after you were completely humiliated) and now are attacking Illum. Sorry but the attempts to manipulate the market (with the aid of lawyers and short sellers) by seeking alpha and its "writers" should be investigated by the SEC.

  • Prospect Capital +3.4% after SEC appeal pans out [View news story]
My opinion is SEEKING ALPHA is broken, They and their minions attempt to fix the market by printing up hysterical useless blather. They should be Encouraged to give a tally at the outset of positive vs negative articles. They appear to make like there are/ were no other articles with contrary opinions ever written from their site and the current article is the OPINION of SEEKING ALPHA> I suggest an SEC investigation to establish the link between the lawyers, short sellers and seeking alpha "writers"

why to people buy bonds? or CD's ..........for income alone. If i could get my 6.5% CD at the bank i would have alot more free time and less stress.

i was trying to make the distinction between the pitiful dividends most companies pay their owners and this BDC structure. Much has been made of the "perilous" high yield. "theres must be a reason it pays this much" the reason is they pass through the income. Ok so there is a difference between do and must. They can stop or reduce the payout at anytime but they do so at their peril.

dear anonomous writer. Why are you afraid to identify yourself?. Lets see. This way you cannot be connected to the attacking lawyers, the attacking short sellers, and those who support their cause or write similiar "impartial" pieces. You give away your motives by the self-servering and inflamatory title . Im guessing you were looking to get your article on top of the headlines. You succeeded and the shorts and sheep are eating it up. The fact that so far each of these scare tactics have failed should be mentioned in your article. The fact that we got started on this correction is because 2 indexes decided to skew the marketplace by selling in mass should also be noted. If they decided to sell their bank stocks you would gotten the same reaction in the price.

"Seeking Alpha's policy on anonymous authors." i question seeking alpha's policy. Especially when stocks "analysed" have such a large short selling contingent
