Yuval Tal is an important figure in the global payments and internet commerce industries, having worked in several online companies and then later becoming the founder of worldwide web payment solution, Payoneer. Yuval Tal grew up in Israel and attended Tel Aviv University where he earned a BSc in mechanical engineering and an MSc in biomedical engineering. Upon completion of his MSc, he briefly served within the Israel Defence Forces and was rewarded for his commendable actions. Tal started his career in a series of Israeli companies, including RADWARE, a provider of application delivery solutions for which he worked as the vice president of the organization. Tal then went on to work at R-U-Sure Ltd, one of the web’s first price-comparison engines, as a general CEO. Tal co-founded a company called E4X (now known as FiftyOne) during 1999, which used the web to make cross border payments and exchanges in customers’ native currencies, in many ways changing the face of e-commerce. With Tal’s help, the company grew to over $500 million in revenue over the first five years. Leading retailers such as Anthropologie, Drugstore.com and Johnson & Murphy were among the company’s clientele. During 2005, Tal founded an online payment solution company called Payoneer. The system allows online businesses and various other kinds of companies to quickly and efficiently pay both suppliers and partners regardless of their location. One of Payoneer’s solutions is the introduction of prepaid Mastercard® cards, which can be loaded with money and sent to suppliers and partners instead of traditional checks and payment transfers. Payoneer works with a wide range of companies in different industries, from large online freelancing organizations and affiliates to travel companies and pharmaceutical corporations. The company is currently based in New York, with R&D offices in Israel. When he’s not working, Yuval Tal is a keen photographer, having studied at The Parsons School in New York. He also enjoys keeping fit and spending time with his wife and children.
