  • Exelon's CEO Discusses Q2 2013 Results - Earnings Call Transcript [View article]
    These transcriptions are terrible. Are they done by a machine? Does no one check them before they are posted?

  • Intel: Major Catalyst Coming On July 22 [View article]
    Ashraf,
    You said, " I believe that on this webcast Intel will be announcing its next generation micro-server and networking infrastructure parts based on the Silvermont core known as Avoton and Rangeley, respectively."
    I don't know if this happened, but the lack of significant response in stock price yesterday and today is causing the first crack in my confidence in your reporting.

  • Dividend Stocks And Higher Rates ('94 Example) [View article]
    Interesting and somewhat reassuring. Thanks for the research and article. So, the present lagging of div stocks is a correction for the previous outperformance, '09 thru present? As well as investors (mistakenly?) thinking bond prices will hold up better in a rising rate environment than div stocks?

    How about a little acronym primer for us non=geeks?
    CPU= Central Processing unit?
    GPU= Graphics Processing Unit?
    GPGPU= ?
    APU= ?
    "HSA"= ?
    512 GCN = ?

    Of all the INTC articles (and there are many!), I find yours to draw the best tie lines between tech talk and stock evaluation. Keep up the good work. Also, when reading others' articles, even if I don't read the entire article and all the comments, I always scan the comment section for your comments.

  • Total SA: A Mixed Bag Dividend Play [View article]
    North and Walter,
    Thank you for the replies and information. I talked to Fidelity and got a confusing answer. Their specialist called me back, but I haven't had a chance to return his call yet. Walter, I suspect you are right about the IRA account; I've read something like that before. I guess I'll either put up with the 4.25% effective dividend (which isn't that bad), or switch to CVX for my energy allocation.

  • Total SA: A Mixed Bag Dividend Play [View article]
    northhills24, I own TOT in Fidelity IRA account, and in April they took exactly 30% of the dividend for "foreign tax paid", leaving me with about a 4.25% net. Do you think I should inquire about the 15% vs. the 30%, or is this the penalty for owning the stock in an IRA?

  • Mobile Manufacturers Part I: Killer Competition [View article]
    I get articles concerning MSFT and INTC and there are so many I only get to read a few. This one looked interesting, and was. I wonder, since in the mobile phone sales chart above, the "other" segment is the largest of the smartphones at 3Q 2012 and also accounts for the largest increase since 1Q 2012; could you list two or three of the companies with the greatest sales in this "other" segment?

  • Create Your Own MLP Fund For Higher Returns [View article]
    Is anyone else concerned that the payout ratios on all these MLP's are greater than 100% and that they seem to stay at this level for months, if not years; or am I missing some factor that makes this not as much of a concern as it would be with common stocks?
