I have advanced degrees, Master’s (S. M.) and Doctoral (Sc. D.), in Materials Engineering from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology, Cambridge, MA, USA and Bachelor's and Master's degree in Mechanical Engineering, from the University of Poona (now Pune) and the Indian Institute of Science, Bangalore. I have spent my entire professional career at leading US research institutions (MIT, Allied Chemical Corporate R & D, now part of Honeywell, NASA, Case Western Reserve University (CWRU), and General Motors Research and Development Center in Warren, MI), have co-authored two books and published several scientific papers in leading peer-reviewed international journals. My expertise includes developing simple mathematical models to explain the behavior of complex systems. I do NOT have any formal degrees in business, economics, or finance but did complete the H & R Block Tax courses (and ranked in the top 95% percentile too!). I am now living a single, retired, life, doing a lot of reading and writing and some teaching. I also lecture on topics outside what has been mentioned here, like what life is all about and the teachings of a great book called the Gita that has been held in high esteem all over the world. Later, someday, perhaps, we can talk about it here and about the Cosmic Background Experiment (COBE) and how all that also relates to the world of finance.
