I don't care where this stock traded before; I don't sit on the subway counting non-blackberries. I own this stock for the things one can't see and because I believe American's have priced in the certainty of things they can't know.
So if you are right I lose ~35%, and if anything else happens I win.

  • Level 3 Communications Management Discusses Q2 2013 Results - Earnings Call Transcript [View article]
Sellside analysts are either interviewing for a job or trying to get lead left on LVLTs next bond deal. Where is the skepticism?
As usual we will have to wait until the Q appears to uncover where the EBITDA was found.
LVLT better hope rates don't keep rising; the Finco bonds are the real equity here.

Infinity, did you see that ORCL is leaving Nasdaq and headed to the NYSE, apparently Ellison cant hang with weekly options. Some people here have talked about BBRY doing the same, they should. Also they should list in London & Singapore.

Agreed that is what the shorts will say, but this time WHO WILL BELIEVE THEM??? How many times can they cry "wolf"; at some point (perhaps this time) people will be too greedy to entertain their spin.

Its easy to produce the narrative in hindsight; do you have anything that is timestamped that validates your prediction of the financial crisis? Or are you like all the other fools?

Where can I go to validate quantum of money that he lost? He lost a "ton of money", how much is that?
Was the Financial Crisis caused by a single factor in 2007 or 2008? Or was it the accumulation of elements over time? Did you want him to be long subprime/financials/etc in until 2007, then get super short, in order to give him the credit he has won?

You fool. With the number of times paper money has gone to zero, you have more respect for those who save in gold.

  • BlackBerry (BBRY +0.6%) is talking with rival OEMs about having BlackBerry Messenger pre-installed on their phones, says COO Kristian Tear; the remarks come a month after BlackBerry announced iOS/Android versions of BBM would arrive this summer, exciting some investors and stoking fears among others of less hardware differentiation. BBM claims a base of 61M active users (many of them in emerging markets), with 70% of them using it daily. The iOS/Android apps will face competition from WhatsApp (200M+ users and #2 in Google Play free download rankings), Skype (#3), and Facebook Messenger (#4), among others. [View news story]
Ziffster, please confirm that you understand the difference between Services subs and BBM subs and that services subs are around 76million and BBM subs are now 61million. You are too valuable to this site and the BBRY discourse to make this blunder. :-)

  • BlackBerry Q10 Outsells iPhone 5 And Galaxy S4 In France [View article]
Wiesje, the shorts can't see the future any more than we can - they are "blind with bad news". They simply don't know; the short interest has not responded to anything BBRY has done (BBM etc) -- it just grows. The shorts are certainly trying to create the future, but they don't know more than Michael Collins. Keep your head down and keep buying the stock and for God's sake don't sell until at least 2017

  • BlackBerry Launches A Land Grab In Mobile Messaging [View article]
If you are correct and BBM really was the "last argument for why people should buy his hardware", then BBM must be amazing because the BB0S7 hardware is weaksauce (at least for the last 15months). So what you are saying is that BBM was so amazing, people bot sh*t hardware just to have a second class experience with a messaging platform that would have been better on iOS. I am with Michael here, BBM cross platform grows BBRY's Total addressable market enormously and the expected value of the stock considerably. Not long ago Skype changed hands for $7.5bn, the entire EV of BBRY is about 55% of that. Lets see if BBM is as amazing as Aasmul thinks it is.

  • BlackBerry And Carl Icahn: Time For A Short Squeeze? [View article]
The article would have been much better if you had just omitted all the stuff that you could not prove - so every sentence with the words Microsoft, Apple, Android, or Google would be left out. The main reason I am long BBRY is my belief in the inability of analysts to predict the future.
