    • Search Atheism On The Rise [view article]
This is something I have been saying/feeling for at least a couple of years. Non-informational requests (e.g. who sells X, best price for Y) are rapidly becoming useless. The only way to find all who sell a particular product is to go to the manufacturer's website and look for "Online Sellers" These types of searches have become an electronic version of the Sunday newspaper fliers. • Are Online Sales in Trouble? [view article]
You're right - people don't balk at buying online. However, there are major issues. First, in many if not most cases, the value is no longer there. Prices are mostly the same at all of the online sites so you're really talking convenience. Second, even if the values and advantages are out there, you won't find them through Google or the others (MiGod what heresy). The search engines simply act as shills for a few sites. Try searching for a particular product and see if you REALLY find all of the online businesses that sell that product. More significantly, see if you really find the lowest price Jun 18 04:53 PM
    • Wal-Mart's Generic Drug Plan: Macro Implications [view article]
Hi - I think you should remove your Walmart-hate before writing. There are two interesting facts concerning generic pricing and Walmart's "predatory" pricing. First, Costco already sells at least one of the generics in question for $3.69!! Second, CVS sells a number of these same generics for $10.99. Now you tell me - who is screwing those Florida seniors, Walmart or CVS??? Further, if Costco earns money at $3.69, just how much is CVS making??
I don't particularly like Walmart. However, why does everyone go after them and no one ever looks at CVS, its pricing, its employee benefits, etc. Also, check out how much of their profit comes from prescription drugs
