  • Update: Silver Wheaton Earnings - Alters My Thesis On The Stock [View article]
"a silver streamer with little downside"

I fully disagree with that statement.

Unless Silver moves up it it has been languishing in the $19.00+ range SLW will perform poorly..

To me, with SLW reporting poor earnings and with it's ties to the price of Silver, I see SLW moving towards the $20.00 to $22.00 price range.

If the Russian-Ukraine situation deescalates then SLW will slide even more into a strong downside position.

    Let's face a fact.

Besides my opinions above, where I do not believe the Tesla will be the giant producer of Ecars in the future and may in fact become a very small producer if a producer at all, the PPS of TSLA is approaching a very overbought situation which in turn will bring down the PPS to their previous short term price of near $120.00 a share. Remember, it recently went from a high of $194.50 down to $120.00 in just a few weeks.

Dare I say Tesla has definitely become a very risky company to invest into?

First off, justsayingit. stop calling me dufas! Grow up! We are trying to have an intelligent conversation about Tesla and their place in the development of an all electric car that will may become the next ground breaking invention such as the Wright Brother's did at Kitty Hawk!

By the way, the Wright Brothers never made it big with their invention. The big corporations eventually built a better product with mass funding to make it mainstream.

There are very, very few companies who have one only product that make it.

That is why I think the big mega billion dollar automakers will come up with their own Ecar's that will be built more cost effective and with greater capabilties than Tesla's products.

As a marketing tool used yesterday, I agree that this was a way for Tesla to push their stock price higher. The release of the new prototype is several years away.

I also agree that the main focus should be that a car company, be it Tesla or a large automaker, will eventually make Ecars mainstream which will have a HUGE impact in our society!

I just don't think Tesla has a chance to compete against the Big Boys when the Big Boys set their minds to the project! (which they already have!)

What do you think that these Billion dollar automakers do with their money?

    Beat out the competition!!!

Don't you think they are, at this very moment, working on a better Ecar than Tesla and that they will unveil it before Tesla has their new prototype unveiled (or shortly afterwards).

    It's a foregone conclusion!!!

Tesla needs to make these type of announcements with hope that investors will pour their dollars into Tesla.

    However, they won't.

Hot start-ups come and go everyday.

Remember when Apple was the first to develop a personal computer.

The stock took off for a little while but then, BEHOLD,... IBM!!!

Apple's stock languished for 25 years (they only lasted because a lot of people already bought the first generation Apple and had to stick with them for support.

Then Steve Jobs came back (he was booted out of Apple because Apple was such a failure going head to head with giant IBM who came up with their own personal computer. Apple was only saved when they brought back Steve Jobs who came up with the iPod music player in 2001 and iTunes Music Store in 2003

Mark my words, Tesla will not be around in five years.

GM, BMW, Mercedes, etc will dominate the Ecar market!

Take this for what it's worth, but do you think that the huge automakers are going to be outdone by a small company like Tesla?

Believe me, there a probably 40 automakers who are working on a better Ecar and most of those companies have billions of dollars for both developement and marketing.

Tesla's only product is an Ecar which means that if just a few of these large automakers come up with a better product (remember, they have thousands of people working in their in R & D departments, Tesla will be out of business within 5 years.

  • Hydrogen fuel cells vs. electric vehicles: Too early to call [View news story]
I really do not think that Tesla has a chance of succeeding against auto giants like Toyota, Honda, Mercedes and all the US auto companies. Really, don't you think that these giants will let a small company like Tesla offer the only Electric cars? Don't you think that these giant auto companies have the means to produce them at less cost? How about marketing them. They have far more means to do that.

  • A record quarterly drop of 23% in gold prices in Q2 to $1,223.80 has exposed miners' massive debts, which have increased to a high of $21B at 55 top gold and silver producers from under $2B in the past 10 years. Gold has now become cheaper to buy than to extract for many firms. If prices stay below $1,300 for over two quarters, S&P reckons downgrades could be on the cards. Barrick Gold (ABX) is particularly exposed with debts of $14.8B. [View news story]
A typical bounce! Gold and Silver are heading much, much lower!

I feel bad for those who bought near the highs but that is typical of the retail investor!

Just like the wave-frenzy to buy when Gold and Silver were climbing each day, the same holds true the opposite way!

  • Shares of Antares Pharma (ATRS -9.1%) continue their slide today after its second-quarter loss widened and results missed analyst estimates on Wednesday. Net profit was hit by bottom line pressure from higher investment expenses related to the development of its Vibex MTX auto injector for the treatment of rheumatoid arthritis, along with an increase in support personnel. [View news story]
Any investor who believes that a earnings report, at this stage of Antares long term (and might be fairly short term soon), is not a true investor but is one of those investors who are in the stock market to truly specualate on day to day price movements.

A Pharma company with direct ties to companies like Teva Pharmaceutical Industries, Watson Pharmaceuticals, Eli Lilly plus other agreements with many other pharma companies has their head stuck in the sand.

Did I mention that two top executives from Eli have been hired by Antares (do I smell takeover in the not to distant future)?

Shortly the VIBEX MTX development program will be finished and approved and the outlook for price appreciation is tremendous. On top of all this they HAVE A SIZABLE CASH RESERVE, unheard of from a small pharma company which usually burns through cash in developing their new products.

All I can say is if you are not a day trader and want to post HUGE gains in the next six months, Antares is THE company that comes along once in a lifetime!!!

  • Insider Buying: 5 Recent CEO Buys of at Least $100K [View article]
I do not agree with his or your position on JCP.! The Middle Class cannot afford any spending now for non essential items and JCP is sells to the middle class people. Adding clothes or accessories is not at the top of the middle class shopping list. Also, June was not a blip in same store sales. May's sales were also disappointing!
