  • The 5 Most Worrisome Trends At Apple  [View article]
"4. iPad unit sales growth, which paled in comparison to last year at 26%, down from the 166% jump from FYQ4 2010 to FYQ4 2011."

Most points ignored the effect Apple's product cylce has. But this point (#4 on your list) is not even a fair comparison in my book. You are comparing it to a time where the iPad was basically creating a new market, the tablet market, where sales were basically nonexistant so of course the growth rate is going to be insane.

  • Apple Investors Should Be Wary Of The Next Shoe To Drop  [View article]
Someone should come up with a derivative product that would go up every time someone falsely predicts the demise of AAPL... I'd have a better return on that than I do on the stock

  • Cheers And Tears. Mel Karmazin To Leave Sirius XM  [View article]
Like you said Stephen, uncertainty is never a good thing in my mind. To be honest I thought the drop was going to be bigger with this type of news.. I'm glad it wasn't.

I hope they do a good job in replacing him. Like TJTORETIRE said, I really hope his replacement is a little more aggresive on the marketing side. I am very pleased with how Mel managed the company, but always thought that SIRIUS could use some help with advertising. I see it as an amazing company that has grown due to its great product, but its advertising has been basically limited to word of mouth. I know pre-installing it in cars can be considered markteing, but I've always wondered how much it can grow with beter communication about the product.

I guess we'll have to wait and see... fingers crossed

Came here for APPL, but am glad I read the entire article and found out about SKUL. I'm now taking a deeper look into the company.

Congrats on calling all those stores and doing your own research. I beleive that sometimes that type of information is a lot easier to process and much more useful than all those numbers being thrown around.

  • Mel Karmazin Completes Sirius XM Stock Sales  [View article]
SF- thanks again for the artciles. They are not only useful but really easy to read.

As far as the $3.00 stock price for 2013, at this rate we'll have it by next week. : )

I actually wanted to buy some SIRI last week but was hoping for a minor dip to get some more shares. Do you think we'll see one soon or do you think now is as good a time as ever? With the price changing so fast, its been getting harder to determine this.

    Keep up the great articles

I think he's talking about iPhone 5 only. The 27 millio combines all the sales in the quarter including the iPhones sold before the 5 came out.

  • Apple Has 40% Upside Remaining  [View article]
My thoughts exactly. Every time I read an article about how an investment makes so much sense due to various analysis and then the writer says they don't own or plan to own the stock in the near future - it somehow decreases my credibility on all the "evidence" they just showed me as to why its a good investment

  • Investing In Sirius XM Is As Simple As Buying And Holding  [View article]
Sounds simple enough, but its definetley easier said than done. I've managed to controll myself and held on to my few shares that I bought at a little under $2.00 over a year ago...But it hasnt been easy with this rollercoater ...

@ Princehamlet : "Damn I wish I would of invested at 5 Cents"
    - I know what you mean. I usually torture myself by calculating what my stocks would be worth if I had invested the same sum of money at those prices... I dont know why I do it, but I cant help it :)

  • Trade Secrets Of Sirius XM That Make It A Success - Part 1  [View article]
I understand your point on the decreasing ROI, but dont understand why you autmoatically assume that if you increase the penetration model to 70% the conversion rate drops to 35%. Would the conversion rate increase to 55% if you decrease the penetration to 60% then?

Just curious... Or is this the proven point where you can get the maximum profit combination of penetration/conversion?

  • Understanding Apple As An Investment  [View article]
First, thanks for a great article.

Although I agree that Apple does not "need" a new blockbuster to continue improving its share price, its impossible to deny that it would be beneficial. I am pretty sure Apple is not the type of compnay that will ignore its other products just because they are developing a new one, such as the iTV. In fact, they probably already have them and have been delaying a launch due to testing and improving whatever it is they are coming up with. In technology, if you are not constantly innovating you will fall behind, and Apple understands that pretty well.

"If I had one strategic suggestion for Apple, that would be to start moving to a 6 monthly phone cycle to deny competitors a window for their own new products.". This is one of the only things I disagree with in your article. Everything else, I though was spot on. The reason I disagree is ecause a lot of the criticism Apple recieves is because you spend a lot of money to get their latest product, only to find out a couple of months later that they are launching a bigger, better and cheaper new model. People have noticed this and this is why there has been a slowdon in iphone 4S sales, beacuse a lot of people didnt want to upgrade and insted prefered to wait for the iphone 5. If you do it every 6 months, this would happen all the time.

    Once again though, great article...

  • The Apple Stock Split And Its Effect On The DJIA  [View article]
"Firstly, the dividend payment in the next week"

Isnt the upcoming dividend payment next week suppose to make people NOT want to buy the stock until AFTER it happens? Buying a stock for an upcoming dividend will only give you an extra tax burden if I'm not mistaken, (since the dividen is already priced into the stock). Right?
