  • Walter Energy: Despite Weakness, The Company Will Have More Than $500 Million Cash At Year-End [View article]
the market is foward looking. If met coal stays where it is at for the next year WLT is done for. James River and Patriot filed around 6 months before they would've officially ran out of liquidity. That gives WLT around 6 months. Check out the bonds of WLT they also are pricing in end of days scenarios. WLT most likely will go bankrupt. its like saying i have 3 days worth of food so everything is ok today but the market is pricing me as if i need to eat for the next 10 days. WLT will be the next shoe to drop and then regardless of the situation every other coal name will also plunge further. Onshore Wind is at parity with coal now and the rails in the PRB are bottlenecked. I am not sure if coal industry will bounce back. Maybe its just a slow long drawn out death. Despite this i bought WLT, ANR ACI CLD and BTU as a basket with CLD having highest weighting of 80%, BTU of 10% and ANR WLT and ACI at 3% each. I think the industry is oversold and in 3yrs pricing recovers and higher we go. Even though the bankrupt companies can still produce coal they can't expand and upgrade anything so they will eventually peter out

Great title, some nice click bait there. Next article you should title "TESLA, Materially undervalued" and talk about unencumbered value and such.

  • Rousing upgrade on Tesla Motors from Stifel Nicolaus [View news story]
Anyone aware August 22nd 2013 Stifel issued a hold rating on TSLA. It was around 161 dollars per share. So now its up over 50% from their "hold" rating and heh things have materially changes over at TSLA, lobby traffic is up, the factory floor tour was really well done. Now its a pump to the moon Alice buy buy buy!!
Note DB did the same thing issuing a hold rating at 50 in May of 2013. But now that the companies valuation is up 500% and 1yr has passed they feel its worth 300.
I get that the analysts have 30 page glowing reports that appear highly detailed and if you give me a spreadsheet and a bunch of inputs and tell me to make the answer equal a number i can Dr it up and arrive there 12 ways from sunday.
Be curious how many posters that constantly pump TSLA on this board are actually being paid to write positive comments so that their employers, Ie the ones pumping this stock to dump to retail/indexes can profit. TSLA is a great company that has so far made 1 very successful high end niche vehicle for rich people subsidized by Johny the janitor and the rest of the help "American Taxpayers"TSLA the stock is horribly mispriced relative to its future cash flows discounted back to the present value. It looks like everyone is tripping over them selves to up grade this now before their monster secondary which is the only way to fund the cash burn and the gigafactory.

  • Tesla Motors gearing up for all-time high run after DB upgrade [View news story]
Shark it seems like shares of TSLA are materially undervalued here at 259.32. Why do you ask? Because DB says along with some other investment banks (that also oddly enough are gunning for that shelf offering) say its worth north of 310. Seems like a solid 20% upside. I mean when is the last time an investment bank upgraded a stock and was wrong? After all they are the pros

  • The Best Contrarian Macro Investment: Russia? [View article]
I think your spot on. Do you know how to get exposure to Russian bond market? I do not see any ETF's or other instruments to achieve this at the moment. SBRCY they flagged as a part of sanctions last week and i can no longer add to my position at Fidelity my broker. I wonder if other stocks will follow suit

  • Sberbank - Russia's Leading Bank [View article]
FYI most brokers are now blocking buying or selling of the SBRCY Shares due to the sanctions in place. I cannot buy or sell until the ban is lifted. Somehow there are shares being traded today and someone may have been given special rights to liquidate or move the shares. Fidelity announced this today.I suspect within the week the rest will have followed suit. Who knows what russian companies are next or if the RSX/RSXJ will also have to stop trading until this tension is figured out. I was hoping to make a nice profit buying when there was fear in the market but now the US Gov has blocked its own people from profiting from the situation. Pretty sad
