When the CEO becomes a Wall Street target, then you make a change---that's how things work. He planned to go in a couple of more years anyway, Wall Street just sped things up.

  • Tesla Battery Swap Is A No-Go [View article]
There is a one time deposit for your first propane tank of at least $40 so technically you did pay something. After the that, swaps are even but they still have your $40. And, if you don't keep the original receipt, don't expect to get that back either. That was my experience.

Second, not sure the assumption of batteries being swapped are newer is reasonable to make.

  • iOS 7 (AAPL +0.5%) is unveiled, and Jony Ive's fingerprints are all over it. The OS' fonts, icons, and even color palette have been overhauled to provider a cleaner, "flatter" look, and every built-in app has been redesigned. "We ran out of felt and wood," quips iOS/Mac OS chief Craig Federighi. New features include a Control Center for settings that slides up, 3D icons, an updated Safari browser, and multitasking support for all apps (Android has long supported this, but Apple has held off due to battery life concerns it says are addressed by various tricks). Also: iBooks and Apple Maps apps are coming to Mac OS, and Apple is launching a Google Docs alternative called iWork for iCloud. (previous) (live blog) (webcast[View news story]
Apologies for my earlier remarks that were reported and deleted. I was very disappointed at what Apple released (my expectations were too high) and described as much using very poor terms that in hindsight were crude, insulting, and inflammatory.

  • How To Play Joy Global's Earnings Announcement [View article]
The broker executing trades on behalf of the account holder does indeed affect the facts. It explicitly shows who is in charge---the investor. They made the choice/decision. Your mischaracterizations are contrary to the truth here and I object to such. Everything is transparent yet you do not seem to appreciate that FACT.
