My original point is valid: The FMBP portfolio yield is weak. The reason I commented is I read an article about an income portfolio that delivered poor income.

You seem to fail to understand this. RS told me to name names on the spot, I did. He asked for a quick list and I gave him a list. I have no desire to write an article about anything, I already have a job, thanks anyways.

I dumped it so what does it matter? Please try to understand I grabbed a quick portfolio to show that you can throw together a true "income" portfolio that throws off a decent amount of income with mostly high quality dividend champs.

3g bought it BRK financed it. As a fee for financing it Buffett got to wet his beak so he owns a little. The idea was 3Gs and the management is 3Gs.

Okay but that is not what he says... I quote:

"The primary focus is income for a more secure financial future, with far less emphasis on total return. It simply does not matter."

So does total return matter or does it not matter?? I take issue when someone says this is a income portfolio yet they have a low yield. I'm an income investor I want income now! Income 10 years from now doesn't help me pay my bills this month or this year.

Okay. Here is a list of companies that I pulled up rather quickly, most are dividend champs all have been paying a dividend for a long time:

    BP(6.09), GSK(6.12), PM(4.82), MO(4.11), O(4.53), MCY(4.49), UHT(5.31), KMP(5.49) Total 5.12% Yield

An Equally weighted 200K portfolio = $10,240 Yearly Income (Kicking off 46% more yearly income then your portfolio

I'll say it again, if this is a income portfolio the yield is pathetic. This portfolio appears to be a balance between yield and growth. If a investor truly does not care about capital appreciation there are many better choices for higher income.

"Timing the market is for suckers and gamblers. Does Buffett time the markets?"

Buffett absolutely times the market. He hordes cash and buys during the crash. Has everyone forgot 2008-2009 already? No one remembers Buffett loaning to banks during the crisis?

"Morningstar's Key Stats page includes many metrics, including the payout ratio. For the TTM, BP's payout ratio is reported to be 77.6%."

Which is wrong. If you go directly to the cash flow and income statements you'll see payout ratio is around 55%. When in doubt read the financial statements from the company. Financial statements from the company are non-debatable facts.(short of fraud)
