  • Comparing 'Sleep Soundly' CEF And ETF Portfolios [View article]
1st rate article - very well presented and thoughtful - and your replies to the various comments also are as of high quality and as thoughtful. I do have a question - is your portfolio designed to fund your living expenses on a quarterly or monthly basis? Or do you start the year with a portion of cash and allow the dividends to accrue?

  • Whole Foods Is Not A Buy Here [View article]
I own the stock and will buy some more - I often shop there and every time I visit the store I smile and feel good - there's energy there with the shoppers and the employees. I think the stock will do well - even with these drops in the stock - the long term will prove owning it was a solid investment -

good information - thank you. I own both issues since the split and will sit tight for a year or more -

I wonder if they will be moving out of Illinois in the near future - if they can't acquire an Irish based company?

  • How One Retiree Is Muddling Through Dividend Investing: Part VIII - A Year Later [View article]
I enjoyed your article and I learned a few things. I'm wondering how much your trading costs are during the year? Sometimes those expenses will place a good dent in your return. I also thought to suggest writing some covered calls on a small portion of your RTN - I had a large similar position on WMT - and the covered calls helped add some income during its trading range. If you keep the covered call positions very modest - it won't cause too much of a capital gain bite if called away.

Good luck & thanks for the nice article

  • This Could Be The Perfect ETF For A Roth IRA [View article]
Great article - I've owned Guggenheim's RSP and CVY within my Roth - and have rounded out the balance with PowerShare PCEF -
1/5 RSP, 3/5 CVY & 1/5 PCEF - PCEF has been a great yield machine but perhaps what you suggest would have been much better - I'll know soon after back testing - thanks again.

  • Listed Private Equity: From Skeptic To Believer [View article]
Within some managed accounts I noticed that some managers avoided PSP and others because these include the whole group of PE while perhaps you'd be better off owning the best of breed - such as Appolo, Blackstone and Cargyle

  • Should You Buy Realty Income At Current Prices? [View article]
Extra great article - just started my monthly purchases of 100 ss of O this week. Many of the follow up articles are also very well articulated too. Owning a diversified portfolio of REITS and companies like COP and others is the way to go. I'll start looking at RD.A very soon Thanks to everyone who have contributed to this article.

  • Realty Income: Should You Buy At $40 Per Share? [View article]
A very good article - THANK YOU - really insightful and merits consideration - with dollar cost averaging i.e.. buying a bit (more) now and a bit more later might prove to be a beneficial strategy for long term investors - there's nothing like seeing a bit a "cha-ching" hitting your brokerage account each month -

I will be looking to see how insiders are doing - many of the REITS have been mauled recently during the last few months - so looking at what the insiders are doing could be a component to include within anyone's investment action plan.

  • Blue Chip Dividend Investing Without A Lid [View article]
Another excellent article - I have some XLU & CVY which I've been contemplating selling and using the proceeds to reallocate in some of the equities you have indicated - your materials are very helpful for my getting a decision point - Thanks for your thoughts and everyone's comments.

  • With IBM Down, Buy And Sleep Sound Like Buffett [View article]
I own IBM and purchased some more earlier this year - so I'm experiencing a case of buyer's remorse. I'm considering selling my position and using the proceeds to add to my RSP & SDY positions - both will have some IBM within these ETFs - One of my favorite authors is Malcom Gladwell - within one book of his called Blink - it indicates that one's first impression is usually the correct one. My BLINK tells me to drop IBM - regardless of the factors that indicate at this level it's a buy - My instincts tell me otherwise.

  • Too Much Risk In McDonald's (The Stock, Not The Food) [View article]
Good article - something has always been grating on me about MCD and your article helped me to focus on a possible action plan - perhaps swap my MCD for RSP -
    Thanks for this material.
