It's Time For Apple To Buy BlackBerry [View article]
It makes sense to me for Apple to make a broadband play like acquiring cable operator like Comcast or other broadband like Verizon and/or satellite TV operator to optimize Apple TV, the killer app in their pipeline. Apple is already competitive in the enterprise market as previously noted.

If your theory is true, aapl is selling off due to tax reasons and will turn around next year, then why is a stock like DDD, which made huge gains this year, not selling off but instead is flirting with new highs?
Apple Ready For A February Sell Off [View article]
If aapl goes to 900 dollars a share, you have a double, not bad but I can point to numerous inexpensive stocks where that double is much more likely and sooner. Take amsc for example. It's beaten down to 5 bucks a share but it has traded at 70 and there's a great chance that it will be trading above 10 this year. I buy and sell aapl, never more than 300 shares. Buying is not the hard part. Selling is. At some point in retrospect, you buy and hold through hell or high water guys are going to wish that you had sold but that day is not near or even this year.

9 million dollars worth of aapl, I'm so jealous. Here's why you're dead wrong Mr Pedro. If you had traded your shares well ie. selling high and buying low, you'd have 40,000 shares of aapl.

No company is an island. It's over sold like a thousand others. The dollar needs to weaken before it can take off again. Also, what does aapl have to do with the S+P 500? It trades on the NASDAQ and it was a major drag on the index today.
Why You Shouldn't Make The Mistake Of Shorting Apple [View article]
Normally aapl holds up the Nasdaq but lately it's been a drag on it. If the Naz tanks and I think it will, aapl will go with it. I think the selling, considering the large sell volume spikes, is due the fund and hedge guys window dressing their portfolios heading in to the end of the year. They are simply banking profits. There's nothing wrong with that. There's nothing wrong with Apple. Aapl has been a good buy and hold investment but it's a good trader too. There's nothing wrong with that. It's not hard to play a 50 dollar spread between highs and lows. It's what you're supposed to do. Sell high and buy low.
That's a nice picture from the Apple store in China but the trading chart is the picture I'm paying attention to and that picture says that it's time to worry. Usually and for a good while, at least 2 years, aapl has been leading the Nasdaq 100 higher and holding up better when the Nas tanks, but not this week. Something changed and it's selling off hard on high volume, 50% higher on an overall light light trading day, Veteran's Day, when the bond markets were closed and all the rest of the techs were rallying hard. If you look at the on balance volume, large blocks were sold Wednesday through Friday, so some institutions and hedge funds with guys smarter than you and me are selling. Aapl is breaking down. It dropped below its 50 day MA and it's likely to test it's 200 day MA soon. If buyers don't come in then, it's official. Apple is in trouble. I wouldn't short this company from here but it's smart to bank some profits, you know, sell high, buy low and this thing is heading lower imo. I have recently sold shares at 425, 405, and on Friday, 385. On the day when the streets are at their bloodiest, Italy problems again no doubt, I'll buy some back. I like the company but I don't like the upside action on it. Being smart enough to buy aapl is only half the coin. You also have to be smart enough to sell it when it's time.
Apple May Finally Be In Trouble: Competition Stepping Up In Tablet Market [View article]
I trade strictly by charts on a stock like aapl and I didn't like the action yesterday or today at all considering every other tech stock out there today was up like 2%. I have been selling aapl and I made a big dump today at 385. When Berlusconi pulls a gun on Merkel while Sarkozy has his shorts down next week and the entire equities market tanks yet again, aapl ain't going up if it wasn't trading up today. Yesterday I thought that something is wrong with aapl and today I acted on it. I only have 35% of my original position and maybe won't be buying it on the dips any more. The stock has peaked for now and the equity markets as a whole are in grave danger in my opinion.
If You Sold Apple On The Earnings 'Miss' You're A Fool [View article]
I sold some aapl on tuesday @425 and would have sold more on wednesday had it popped as it often does the day after earnings. I always buy it back eventually. I'm just waiting to see what the indexes do. I didn't see a miss, just a delay.

The only way you'll get that short to 350 is if the Dow goes under 10,000 and in that case, there would have been many other better shorts that you could have made.
