  • Stocks Endangered By Fresh Putin Aggression - Sell SPDR S&P 500 [View article]
Only an old man who lives in the past would label my criticism of the amateurish coup in Ukraine (with its terrible consequences for Ukraine and Ukrainians, including but not limited to Ukraine's loss of Crimea) as support for Putin.

Either show me one single word of praise for Putin or for Russia in my comments, or apologize for the insult!

    symba,

I am not leftist at all.
I have been strongly anti-communist, anti-dictatorship (communist, fascist, religious, all kinds of dictatorships) for my entire life (63 years)

I am talking about what's happened in Kiev last month, which is "A small group of Ukrainian citizens who, with sweet promises from abroad but without any plans for the "day after", have ousted a legitimate Ukrainian government that had been elected earlier by the majority of Ukrainian voters through a free and democratic election.

You, instead, are talking about the suffering of the people under the communist regimes behind the iron curtain, which is thankfully a thing of the past since the early 1990's.

You and I are both against dictatorships and oppression. What separates you and me is that:

    a) You fail to see that what a group of protestors have done Ukraine in Ukraine has actually hurt Ukraine and Ukrainians, and will continue to hurt with serious and long lasting social, economic, political and geographic (Crimea) consequences;

    b) You immediately apply name calling and categorizing people, making it evident that you DID live under KGB and familiarized yourself with their tactics. You sound like an aparatchik who can not have a discussion without name calling or personal attacks.

I am done with you, your name calling, and with your narrow way of thinking.

Good luck to you (and to the former demonstrators at the Maidan) in your efforts to get Crimea back, restore the internal piece and order between Ukrainians and other Ukrainians, pay the national energy bill, and heal the national pride that's been hurt.... because a few thousand Ukrainians ousted the national government without a plan.

  • What Seeking Alpha Is Doing To Prevent Paid Stock Promotion [View article]
Before I uncheck the "Track new comments" box and move on:

Now that quite a number of us have expressed our opinions about authors, their articles, their true motives, the rude language that some authors use in their follow-up comments toward their critics, the SA policies on editing, comment deletion and pump and dump authors, the stock bashing (not covered in Eli's article), organized stock bashing by dedicated commentators (probably paid commentators), etc.,it is interesting that we are not (I am not) aware of any response by any of the authors who have been openly accused here. Why? Where are they? Why are they not defending themselves?

    And finally,

    (From Seeking Alpha):
"What SA is doing to prevent paid stock promotion"

(From the 1968 Broadway musical hit "The Fiddler On The Roof"):
"It doesn't change a thing, but even so,
After 25 years, it's nice to know"

I appreciate your new, latest, freshest article du jour, but it does not help me answer my question to myself.

My question was / is : Mr. Kaminis bases his plans, articles, and market play on his assumption that Russia will attack Ukraine if not during the weekend definitely on a week day. What if Russia does not attack Ukraine at all, not this weekend, not next week, not in the month of April? What will happen then to those who may have sold, sold, sold based on the premise of an imminent Russian military attack? Who's gonna pick up the pieces here on SA?

    Interesting that you said that.

A particular author (James K.) called me and some others "Trolls,....haters,.. blind" for having checked and reminded him of his previous wrong calls.

What has SA done about it? They deleted our posts.

    Symba,

You are soooo wrong that I don't know whether to laugh or feel sorry for you.

Czechs, Slovaks, Poles, Hungarians (plus, Romanians, Bulgarians, Albanians, East Germans,...) overthrew communist dictatorships that were installed in 1945 and controlled for decades by the USSR / KGB.

The Ukrainian government that's been overthrown last month by Ukrainians was elected a couple of years ago, through democratic election, by other Ukranians, in a free Ukraine.

    Learn before you talk.

    Question to myself:

Now that I've been advised by Mr. Kaminis to sell the SPDR S&P 500 and take a financially defensive position, what if Russia does not attack Ukraine? Not during the weekend, not on weekdays, not even in the month of April.

    What then?

I had better find the answer to my own question before I sell, sell, sell.

That "he who leads Russia" has more popularity in Russia and more support from the Russian parliament than his counterparts in Europe or USA do with their electorate and parliaments. He was probably fine tuning his strategy for Crimea when the USA was bugging Frau Merkel's mobil phone.

    See the reality.

Discl.: European who lived and worked in Russia and Ukraine for a US company.

And all that was initiated by Ukrainians themselves, who overthrew their legitimate government without ever considering its inevitable consequences at home and abroad.

Overthrewing their government was a big mistake, but, doing so on the basis of US and EU promises for future support was simply naive!

The same Mr. Kaminis wrote on 14 March "A full Russian incursion on Crimea is imminent. Expect 10-20% surge in gold next week".

Russia got Crimea; the next week came and passed; but gold did NOT surge.

I am sorry to say it, but I for one do not take Mr.Kaminis' word on gold, on Russia, or on potential financial effects of probable international affairs.

No, sir. Commenting here on SA, an investment forum, "I went to McDonalds with my grandchild but didn't like the burgers. They lead to obesity"" is not stock bashing. It is simply irrelevant!

Not to forget of course the authors who promote themselves and their own SA articles in the "Comments" section of other authors' articles.

I have the impression that those contrarian comments are deleted not by the authors themselves but their loyal "MiniMe's". In some cases it is more than obvious.

I agree! Stock bashing through commentary is quite frequent here on SA. When a guy bashes a certain stock in 35 of his 45 comments in the past few weeks it is clear what game he is playing.
