  • Design 101: Tesla's Model 3 Versus GM's Chevy Bolt - Stiletto Heel Versus Nike Running Shoe  [View article]
"all three of the TeslaX's owners I've met or know of are raving about the car"

At $130,000 apiece I would sure hope they are absolutely in love with it. Otherwise spending that kind of money on a car would be silly.

On the other side, the author neglected to talk about the prospects of the Gigafactory for bringing down battery costs.

Tesla has been clear that the $35,000 pricing target depends on a dramatic reduction in battery costs. Without that, I feel the Model 3 would likely price around $60,000 ($15,000 below the base Model S).

Imperial already operates the Syncrude project, so I do not see an improvement in management being in the cards.

  • Suncor "slightly ahead" of tenders to secure Canadian Oil Sands, CEO says  [View news story]
"Oil has fallen a further 30% since this deal was announced"

If one takes a pro-Suncor view, COS should be trading in line with the drop in Suncor shares.
If one takes an anti-Suncor view, COS should be trading on its own merits.

Either way, any hedgies who bought COS in 2015 are under water ...

    1. I always read this author, he puts effort and insight into his work. It is really not his fault that Chesapeake's management has continued to pretend the company is doing just fine.

    2. Author,
"Discretionary Cash Flow from Operations (which I define here as Adjusted EBITDA less Interest Expense, Capitalized Interest and Preferred Dividends)"
probably should be EBITDA less Capitalized Interest and Preferred Dividends.

"Where do you think those layoffs would be ... Sorry Syncrude workers."

Since Imperial (Exxon) operates the project, I doubt that any Syncrude workers would be laid off.
