I am a conservative mostly income investor in munis, stocks;, REITS, MLP's and mutual funds . My particular interest is the interface between politics, the economy and the markets. I currently favor HEALTHCARE REITS, UTES, PIPELINES, TELECOMS. I am the creator of The Joy of Money Seminars(sm), "investment education for the financially faint of heart" and provide basic investment education consulting.
I'm an Army veteran and former energy dividend writer for The Motley Fool. My goal is to help all people learn how to harness the awesome power of dividend growth investing to achieve their financial dreams, and enrich their lives. With 20 years of investing experience, I've learned what works and more importantly, what doesn't, when it comes to building long-term wealth and income streams. I'm currently on an epic quest to build a broadly diversified, high-quality, high-yield dividend growth portfolio that:
1. Pays 4-5% yield
2. Offers 9%-10% annual dividend growth
3. Pays dividends AT LEAST on a weekly, but preferably, daily basis

Daniel is currently the manager of Avaring Capital Advisors, LLC, a registered investment advisor that oversees one hedge fund. His primary focus is on finding businesses that are trading at a significant discount to their intrinsic value by employing a combination of Benjamin Graham's investment philosophy and a contrarian approach to the market and the securities therein.
Dave Fish is Executive Editor for The Moneypaper and co-manager (since 1999) of the MP 63 Fund (Symbol: DRIPX), a fund that invests exclusively in companies that offer Direct Investment (or Dividend Reinvestment) Plans. He is also the author of the U.S. Dividend Champions spreadsheet (and PDF), which is updated at the end of each month...and lists companies that have increased their dividend payout for at least 25 consecutive years. (Separate tabs list "Contenders" that have increased their payouts for 10-24 years and "Challengers" that have increased their payouts for 5-9 years.) http://dripinvesting.org/Tools/Tools.asp
I am a medical professional, but I have been studying investing for many years so that I can control my own portfolio. DGI seems to be the best way for me to invest for my retirement while being able to sleep at night.
I have also been successfully trading cash secured puts for extra income. I share my experience on my websites, Tradingcsps.com and my blog Tradingputs.com.

I have taken a large amount of coursework, both graduate and undergraduate, in economics, machine learning, mathematics, and statistics, culminating in a PhD in Statistics from Carnegie Mellon University.
Currently, I'm a statistics professor at a large, state university (I'll leave it up to you to sleuth it out if you are so inclined) and teach mainly statistical machine learning at mainly the graduate level. Additionally, I research macroeconomic forecasting and using automated algorithms to analyze very large data sets.
Outside of researching and teaching, I spend a substantial amount of time reading and thinking about investing, accounting, and finance and I thoroughly enjoy both writing and read articles here on SA.

She has a master's degree from London School of Economics, and bachelor's in finance/marketing. She works with a top University, "translating" cutting edge research as well.
My background includes education in petroleum engineering and business and 15 years working with producers, midstream operators and utilities to bring oil and gas from the reservoir to the consumer. I understand in detail the full life cycle and value chain of oil, gas, and NGLs, from the physics of permeability and extraction to the economics of refinery turnarounds and utility load profiles. I am interested in bringing focused, in-depth understanding to issues related to oil and gas investing. Industry expertise and a true understanding of how oil and gas is discovered, produced, processed, transported, marketed and consumed are vital to valuing investment opportunities in the fossil energy space.
I've been an investment analyst and financial writer since 2012. I hold a Bachelor's degree in Finance from DePaul University, and an MBA in Finance from the University of Notre Dame. I also have experience working as a research analyst for a mutual fund.
