I have been investing in residential condos for over three decades now and just recently expanded my horizons into stocks. I read every article I can find on Seeking Alpha and have found it a highly reliable information source although I don't agree with a couple writers. I had an investment broker handling my stock portfolio until I decided to do some hands-on research after having watched one stock that he bought me in to drop by 85%! On day one of my research I learned about "stop loss" and was shocked to learn that he hadn't applied this one fundamental and intelligent protective measure to every stock in my portfolio! I fired him that day! I've learned that investing in stocks is not easy but I really don't think that I can do as bad a job handling my own portfolio as he did for me! I'm predominantly playing apple, trying to sell on the highs and buy back on the dips. I'm learning every day that this is not an easy game!
