  • 5 Simple Ways To Beat The Market: Part 5 Of 5 [View article]
    great series-- learnt a lot.
one thought --using momentum strategies ( combining month, 3 month, 6 month returns?) monthly choose the top 2 or 3 ETF's from the 6 ETF's you talked in these series-- RPV, IJR, SPLV, NOBL, RSP . SPY.
may be this will give you higher return with moderate risk?
thanks again for your research and sharing with the rest of us.

good summation of the economic policies of both the candidates--I wish people read clear thinking commentary like this as part of the meaningful / civil debate needed in this country going forward -- not the gibberish coming from both the extremes.
Jason, keep up the good work.

  • How The Lowest Average Cost Wins [View article]
    as per website,
High-Low Index = 10-day SMA of the Record High Percent,
Record High Percent = (New Highs / (New Highs + New Lows)) x 100
as I see, $NYHILO was below -40% only 5 times (May '09, Jun'10, Jul'10, Aug'11 and Oct'11). in the last 3 years-- pretty good indicator to point out the bottoms ( esp. Jul'10 and Oct'11).
I would appreciate if you can confirm we are looking at the same indicator.

I am trying to follow similar approach.
how are the results for your approach? your strategy is similar to Les Masonson's 66 ETF relative strength strategy given in his book "Buy Don't hold".
    thx, kareti
