  • Disappointed By Apple's Yield? Think Again [View article]
beat me to it. Many of us here who have been long AAPL for a while should be looking at this as a 2-3%+ yield, right? excuse me if that sounds like a simple/naive question. Still on a learning curve here at SA.

  • Things That Could Send Apple Pulling Back To $500 [View article]
maybe the author means it will be at 500 before it ever reaches 600 after a 2:1 or 3:1 split...? if that's the case, i agree!! hahaha seriously, there is nothing wrong with reading a differing opinion. Thanks for the article.

I too am a new investor and don't comment much. I do have the luxury to spend a good amt. time on SA while at work, so it feels like i'm getting paid for the education. Thanks David for that education.

  • 5 Stocks For Retirement, No Matter Your Age [View article]
Although i'm new to this site, it baffles me that readers insist on the authors having a position in a stock in order to have an opinion, publish research or otherwise "lay down some education" (which i am thankful for and the reason i continue to return here).
I don't own a Ferrari, nor do i intend to own one in the next 72 hours, but i can give you a bunch of specs, data and otherwise pertinent facts about them.

  • Apple Is An Extraordinary Company, But ... [View article]
going with the premise that the iPhone will continue to be the driving force of Apple's success, and discounting that in our near future iPad sales will overtake PC sales, you can't ignore the fact that, according to Piper Jaffray's research, 94% of iPhone users plan on upgrading to the next model vs. 47% of Android users. That's a heckuva lot of iPhones.

Take into account the expansion into Asia and South America, as well as the continued growth of iTunes, iPad and TV and i think there is still a lot of room for growth.

well writtem, great concept. Writers like Dave might very well be the reason many of us could have a more comfortable retirement. I am a young guy who is constantly encouraged by others to "invest risky, because you have a long time to make up for losses". More and more i'm thinking that the more time many of us have, the more time we can compound/reinvest.
