  • American Capital Agency (AGNC) falls 4.2% premarket as the stock goes ex-dividend today. The $1.54 decline thus far is quite a bit bigger than the $1.25 dividend. Secondary offering on the way? [View news story]

  • NYSE Margin Debt Hits All-Time High Of $465.72 Billion In February, With Risk Rank At No. 2 [View article]
Sorry, but I am a relative newby to the stock market and I am trying to learn. But all I got out of your article is that the two track each other.....was that the sole conclusion?

While you have data and perhaps others like the previous commentator follow it quite well, I am left asking "what is the so what? How does it impact my investing?".

Up until just a few years ago the only stock I had was with the company I work for. I have now collected a tidy sum in stocks but am at a point where I can not afford a bit hit on the portfolio as it will delay retirement for me.

So how about putting the conclusion into something a newby can use?

  • Another Note On The Purchase Of Heinz [View article]
What I haven't read, when do I sell? Do I hold off and take one or two quarters of dividends and then the buyout price of $72.50 a share? Should I sell when it was at $72-5/8?

I am looking for insight either way....seems the right thing to do is collect the dividends and then get full price of the buy out.

  • AT&T: Should I Stay Or Should I Go Now? [View article]
I bought T at $28 and then another slug at $31. I like what I see, but like you I keep an eye on the growth. While I am in for the long haul, I have the stock with a stop loss, so that if something really bad in the market occurs I can keep some of the growth and figure that I can buy back in at a lower rate. I did this with First Energy and that worked pretty good.

I hope the stop loss doesn't kick in, but if it does, I will be back into T at the right price again. That's my 2 cents.....not sure if it is good logic or not. I have only been trading in the market for less than a year because my wife told me I had to do something with the cash I was sitting on. I have made some dumd moves as well, but T is the best move I have made to date.
