it's lost down 17% since i have owned it (mid-2010), with avg div yield over the same period ranging 11-14%. in looking at this way,

understood, but if i look at total dist vs total cost, w/o averaging, looks like i am ahead about 7%/yr w no reduct in divy since 7/10

would look for something where you would likely retain your capital at the very least.
