  • Update: Methode Electronics Exceeds FQ2 Earnings And Raises EPS Guidance [View article]
Simple math: the company raised guidance for the year by 10-cents after an apparent 11 to 12-cent Q2 beat. The conclusion is that there really wasn’t a raise in guidance for the remaining two quarters because Q2 just gave you ALL of the raise and then some!

  • SA author Kevin Quon highlights 5 firms that are prospering from low natural gas prices, including those that benefit from the use of gas as a fuel source and those that make it readily available. The five are Clean Energy Fuels (CLNE +7.55%), Fuel Systems (FSYS +2.9%), Golar LNG (GLNG +3.6%), Chart Industries (GTLS +5.3%) and Westport (WPRT +11.3%).  [View news story]
I agree that all these companies have seen better times most recently, but have been dealt a double whammy since the PIIGS affected the market most adversly of late. Since running up in mid-March the way was nothing but down. It simply amazes me that the country does not recognize the upside of using natural gas to power our motor vehicles. We supposedly have more Ngas that Saudi has oil. Could it be the big oil lobbyists putting the kabosh on this natural resource useage? Damn the torpedoes - full speed ahead. These companies will turn around price-wise. I hope the American people do like-wise.

    Holthusen,

You gotta know when to hold 'em and when to fold 'em. They'll be back - soon. WPRT was up almost 12 % today!
