  • How Do I Stick To The Slow, But Sure Process Of Dividend Growth Investing? [View article]
if dividends are sought after why not ETF's with high div ... like ETV ..PHK ...CEFL ... just need to watch the flow (like all stocks etc...)
diversified div growth will give more balance and also most likely more growth

watch GILD run .... then watch the others ( mainly the HCV pharma ..ABBV etc) play catch up ... the outcomes will all be very similar to GILD .... but the big horse remains GILD ...... AAPL is in another breed ..... lol

  • How Dividends Don't Matter In Retirement; A Few Examples [View article]
the common investor , saver , middle of the road person could never invest/save with BRK.... really 195,000 a share ? I get it ... good for the million dollar group but the common person (see the separation that has begun ... the commoner and the peasant and the elite 1% ?) can never follow the path of the 1% ... despite a great climb in stocks the US remains with a great divide and it gets wider by the minute....

  • Has Gilead Priced Sovaldi Too High? [View article]
there are many others getting into the mix ..ABBVIE being one with great promise .... your are referring to genotype ... there are many and many subtypes 1a,1b, 2a,2b ,3a,3b ..... most usa has the 1a type ...the lucky have 2 or 3 which have a hx of being much easier to treat. this is a good drug for those with 1 genotype as they are harder to treat and tend to lead to more complications ..... if someone gave you a pill that curd a virus that could kill you slowly and painfully how much value do you give it? the older treatments had poor results, were costly to manage , were largely a waste for millions .... I do not like the cost but the outcome is effective and worth it for society ... let's hope GILD invests this into more help for society (doubt it )

  • Why Gilead Is My Next Apple [View article]
GILD is good and what is very good is that there are a few companies that as of Dec 2014 or sooner the gov will be opening the door to having all oral as standard of care for HCV treatment unless interferon is needed to give an extra shot (pun intended). ABBV ready to enter ... MRK is also on the cusp ..This will create some competition. GILD is strong …. ABBV is a contender due to the div and low entry price to this new phenomenon

  • Fastest pace of new home sales in six years [View news story]
In my immediate neighborhood (within a one mile radius) there are the highest numbers of homes for sale we have ever witnessed (14 as of today) .... these are lower priced homes (120,000 to about 210,000) ... but it is reflective of the recent Italian owned mill closing down after over 100 years ..... etc....
this news is at times culled and created ... as is the unemployment reports that fail to inform the reader that the new jobs are service low paying bs jobs ....

hmmm did the market just do a mini correction ? well yes it did .... oil is about to rocket higher ... please stay tuned to your gas pump

  • AbbVie - Attempt To Acquire Shire Is Driven By Opportunistic Tax Synergies [View article]
Hepatitis C attacks the liver and can lead to cancer and organ failure. The virus affects about 150 million people worldwide and the market for new pills is estimated at about $20 billion. Drugmakers are competing to market treatments that eliminate the need for ribavirin and weekly shots of interferon, an older therapy that causes flu-like symptoms.

AbbVie’s combination consists of a protease inhibitor called ABT-450 used with the booster ritonavir, an NS5A inhibitor called ABT-267 and ABT-333, a non-nucleoside polymerase inhibitor. ABT-450 will garner sales of $1.4 billion in 2016, making it the company’s second-biggest drug, according to Jeffrey Holford, an analyst at Jefferies International in New York.

if abbvie is able to contain consumer/insurers costs it will out manuver Gilead and gain even more than this article suggests......and at 27 + dollars per share with a dividend of .42 per ... compared to 81 plus a share and no dividend this company is poised to do well ...sad to say at the backs of millions who have struggled with hep c and to the smiles of the ceo do nothings at the tops
