  • If You Think Microsoft Is Dying, You Need A Reality Check [View article]
I work with business clients everyday showing them how to be very productive using an iPhone, iPad and remote PC.
With the cloud system, what ever I do in a Pages document, numbers spreadsheet or keynote presentation is automatically updated on my phone, iPad and PC.

I only work on one device at a time but the information is synced automatically on all. Very impressive and productive manner of getting things done.

The iPad provides portability and battery life of 10 hours.
I can use FaceTime on either iPhone or iPad to video tap in to instruct or fix a computer issue.

I still work on fixing Windows issues and setting up PC 's so for me I learned a new way to do things when the iPad was introduced in 2010.

    As a percentage of usage,

    smartphone 30%
    iPad. 60%
    Laptop 10%

I use the app Logmein Ignition on my iPad to connect to my PC.
For example I do taxes for clients by logging into my PC remotely
Where I have turbo tax installed.

I use pages (word ), numbers (excel), and keynote (PowerPoint) on my iPad. Apps were $9.99 each. Used Outlook and Office for over 15 years. Took me an hour to learn these 3 iPad apps.

  • Early-Bird Analysts Confused About BlackBerry 10 Sales [View article]
    iOS is in 6th generation

Android jelly bean is the latest multi year OS.

BB OS is one month old but its's the greatest!

Try and convince all the former BB enterprise customers to switch back to an unproven OS that follows a tablet no companies are using.

Unless you try something and actually use it, you will continue to make comments out of ignorance.

My business is working with people on their choices of smartphones, tablets, and pc's.

The only clients I work with connected with BB are switching to the iPhone and iPad.

Those toys (ipad)you are talking about are being used in the medical field, education (whole schools on iPad ), POS in restaurants, companies both large and small........ and if you fly for a living in your business
....peek in the cockpit...you will see one of those toys being used by the pilots.....
Not everything can be accomplished with an iPad but 80-90% is not bad for a ten hour toy.

iCloud is an incremental change.? iPhone 5 was completely redone. Siri not an innovation?

The iPhone 5 and iPads are being used in the medical, education, enterprise, food service, and aviation in record numbers.

I suggest you visit the Apple web site (business section)and watch some of the videos of businesses using these two devices.
This is not Apple talking but large, major world wide companies.

    All industries are represented.

When you fully understand and see how all the iCloud functions work, you will see an ecosystem unmatched in today's market.

I work with clients everyday showing them how to use an iPhone, iPad and any PC together with iCloud as the backbone.

I enjoy seeing clients reactions when I show them all that can be accomplished.

The iPhone and iPad providing portability and battery life and Logmein Ignition providing the remote connection to all the Windows features.

  • Bye-Bye BlackBerry: What Will Make BB10 Fail [View article]
Large corporations are using companies like Good Technology to provide this security between smartphone and company data.

BB security feature is irrelevant as companies have moved on and are now allowing employees to BYOD.

The web browser speed is simply based on the strength of the Internet connection....3G , LTE, or wifi.

The keyboard feature is also irrelevant as the "Siri" feature in the iPhone for dictation covers emails, text messages, navigation, calendar, etc....

The iPad apps Pages, Numbers, and Keynote provide the Oodice capabilities you say are lacking on the iPad.

These apps are only $10 each and files can be emailed as a PDF file or as A Word, Excel or PowerPoint file.

Easy to use.. The file can even sink to your iPhone via the cloud without you having to do anything. Changes just show up on all devices.

50% of my input on my phone is done using Siri on my iPhone.

Text messaging, email, reading messages, calling, etc....all can accomplished by voice commands...even through Bluetooth in car.

    The keyboard is less relevant.

  • Major U.K. Outlets Hike BlackBerry Z10 Price Above iPhone 5, Black Market Thriving [View article]
If and When BB announces their sales numbers, the number sold is between 1 and 10,000,000.

Like guessing a jar of jelly beans.

No one besides Apple gives out their actual sales numbers so all the reports, rumors, stories are nothing but a big jar of jelly beans..

    Guess away !

  • BlackBerry - Some Roads Aren't Meant To Be Traveled Alone [View article]
Work with business clients every day on smartphone and tablet purchases. I am still waiting for the first Playbook tablet to show up anywhere being used by a business person.

Without a proven smartphone and tablet you are not part of the buying decision. BB is too late with a smartphone and a tablet that missed the market.

I do see lots of Blackberries and they are the older models and the client is switching to an iPad and iPhone.

Home Depot put iPhone 4 s in employee hands with the current iOS 6 software. Talk o a Home Depot manager who just got back from some training. He is excited about the apps being built for the iPhone. Some Managers will also be getting iPads.
