  • Samsung Galaxy S4: A Gift To Apple Shareholders [View article]
I can share my experience with Android for almost 3 years...

    Widgets, gadgets, shortcuts.......battery drain.

OS updates....System crash. Apps no longer working.

I am expert on system restore. Two hours to reset all the screens.

Record reboot ....17 times until the phone died. And that within minutes after Sprint giving me a new Android phone.

So two Android phone crashes in the same day. lucky me.

Problem fixed......iPhone 5 and one happy camper.

You can adjust the font size on an iPhone so the letters are as big as your eyes can handle.

You can user the Reader feature on Safari to make the web page story stripped of all ads and only the story ...again with a setting available to increase the font.

I used an Android with a bigger screen before I switched to an iPhone 5. I may be missing a few letters on the left and right side of the larger screen, but where my focus is (in the middle) its the same reading experience.

Over 90% of smartphone users use very few of all the features any OS. Email, texting, web browsing and app usage covers the majority of phone usage.

  • BlackBerry Z10 Goes On Sale, But BlackBerry Is Not For Sale [View article]
Just responding to overblown comments about the "the latest and greatest"......hardware good, OS okay, security good, apps poor, no cloud ecosystem so yes it needs time.

Keep feeding Secretariat, she still needs to grow into the "best" part.

  • Apple: Last Year I Said Sell -- Buy Now? [View article]
Your analysis is wayyyyyy off the mark....

Based on Amazons P/E ratio .

Apples stock price would be $133,667 per share.

One of these companies generated $427 million dollars A DAY of revenue and $137 million dollars of Cash Flow PER DAY..

I will let your do your own research on which company is Apple and which one is Apple.

    Get to work....

I have not made any personal comments against any other commenter. I have not called the new BB a toy. I have tried to be professional and simply state facts. I have simply tried to provide some insight into current tech trends. They are only my opinion and not meant to offend anyone.

Those that have replied and made fun of what I was sharing. Okay.

Sorry. You win. I wish BB much success.

  • Has Samsung Dethroned Apple? [View article]
Since Samsung DOES NOT release actual phone unit sales numbers how can any number reported be nothing more than a wild guess.

I used an a Samsung Android phone for almost three years....the widgets and gadgets were great for the two hour of battery life I got on the phone.

Oh and the system restores were loads of fun. After getting the phone fixed and being without it for two weeks, I got in the car powered it up and watched the phone reboot 17 times before the battery went out.

The current Samsung forums are full of people still reporting "flash crash" and poor battery life.

Yes I did get my first iPhone (5) this past December and can conclude I made the best smartphone choice for quality, ease of use, productivity and fun apps.

Phones are personal choices. Samsung has done a great job copying th iPhone , iPad, Mac air, and passbook app with their wallet app....I look forward to their OS which will probably come from both Android and iOS so it does appear to be copied.

I am not dedicated to only Apple...I work with clients that use Windows, Android, and BB. Your comments about battery life and sharp edges are just not true. Apps are what Apple introduced to the smartphone world in 2007 when Apple created the first App Store. They are what make the iPhone so productive. Whether it be taking one's blood pressure, monitoring exercise, banking, stock trading, and a whole basket of content like MLB, Netflix, ABC, etc......

I work with whatever platform they want to use. My mission is to make these great devices more productive for the user.

I will say that when the iPad was introduced 3 short years ago, it revolutionary in many markets and that continues today. So I find the combination of iPhone and iPad to be the most productive tools in the market today.

I can back up any comment with facts. Just visit some of the companies web sites providing security that BB once had to Good Technology.

Good Technology’s customers include more than 4,000 organizations worldwide, including half of the FORTUNE 100™, eight of the top 10 financial services, five of the top 10 healthcare, and leaders in retail, telecommunications, manufacturing, legal, and government

I listen to my business associates, many of them work for major worldwide firms. They are the ones telling me that they are all switching to iPhones as their companies have implemented BYOD policies.

I respect your opinion to think the new BB is a better phone but why do you call an iPhone a toy......when one of the largest group of users of the iphone are physicians.

The Apple platform of hardware, software, apps, ecosystem and cloud is unmatched.

Why do you call them itoys......I am not lowering myself to say the BB is a toy or horrible phone.

Why don't you check out the web sites for companies like Cisco and IBM and see the list of their Forturn 500 companies they are working with...BYOD policies will not bring back the smartphone market BB lost over the past two years.

The new phone hardware matches well with Samsung and Apple. Everything after that falls short of iOS and Android.

The OS is still unproven and it will take time to become a finished product.

The lack of native apps and ecosystem put BB behind the curve. Look at the Playbook and how poorly it did.

The US launch is going to fizzle. Most smartphone users have moved on from BB.

They are not coming back. Get back to me at the end of March and give me hard factual numbers of product sold after launch.

Meanwhile, Pentagon contractor Intelligent Software Solutions (ISS) is readying a field test for Android and iPhone smartphone apps that will tell a soldier arriving in a war zone what fighting and bombings have already occurred at that precise location. Geo-mapping on the smartphones would be super-imposed with historical data sent wirelessly from a command center, showing the locations and types of encounters -- from shootings and bombings to arrests -- to better prepare troops on the ground.

Each day, the new chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff, Gen. Martin Dempsey, uses an iPad to read his classified intelligence. In an exclusive interview, Dempsey talks Pentagon Correspondent Barbara Starr about his embracing of handheld devices and how he sees the military using them in the future.

  • It's Time For Apple To Buy BlackBerry [View article]
    Some examples...

    IPads as Patient Guides
Mayo Clinic has begun using content- and app-loaded iPads to help guide patients through their hospital experience.

Johns Hopkins’ internal-medicine program adopted the same policy in 2011. Medical schools at Yale and Stanford now have paperless, iPad-based curriculums.

    University of Chicago iPad project

At Crouse and other Syracuse hospitals, the iPad tablet

Members of St. Joe’s infection prevention staff also use iPads to record information

One example of an Apple itunes app that many Canadian doctors use for reference purposes is Rx Vigilance

I am only responding to those that think the Z10 is the next evolution of smartphones. What it lacks in apps and user tools to the current Windows, Android, or Apple phones is substantial.

I work everyday with clients implementing computers, smartphones and tablets. I see the good, bad and indifferent in each product.

There are lots of good hardware out here.....smartphones, tablets, laptops.....

I have used them all....yes I have even used the playbook and BB phones...

They are just not as good as business tools ......the combination of the iPhone and iPad. I prove the superb qualities of this platform and ecosystem to Microsoft, BB, and Android users every day.

I would be happy to demonstrate this to anyone. I do it every week and have never lost a single user.

I am not stuffing anything....people are coming to me for solutions.

Something you may not realize....90% of the functions of any smartphone.....Apple, android, BB are never learned or used. Uses learn email, texting, and how to make phone calls....that's it.

I earn my living by showing clients how to make the smartphone and tablet into two very productive business tools.
The iPhone an iPad perform these tasks the best. I can prove it to anyone in less than an hour.

I can list companies that do business worldwide from my city...

They have all switched from BB and have found a secure system for their iPhones and iPads.

    Check these companies out...;

This is 2013. So BB just invented a phone that has a glass keyboard, swipe features and icons representing apps....looks like th iPhone 2007.

    Checkout the Premier 100 website and report back....;

I am surrounded by business professionals that work for Fortune 100 companies....I am sorry to inform you but they are not using BB phones or BB Playbook 's ....

I read and listen to what is going on in technology. BB went from 50 % market share to less than 2% ....

That's not my fault. But I do not see a need to speed client money in a product that might not exist a year from now.
