  • BlackBerry: Dual-Screen Phone And Battlefield For Analysts [View article]
I understand that BB has a history of the best security system in smartphones. Yes I get that.

The point I am making is that times have changed...the BYOD has turned this 180 degrees in Apple s iOS favor.

The iPad entrance in Fortune 500 was a complete game changer. It opened the flood gates for Apple to get into this market with the iPhone and iPad.

All you have to do is ask people who work for Fortune 500 companies what type of phone they are using....it will be iPhone. Ask them what tablet they are using...it will be iPad. Not 100% but a large majority.

Medical, Enterprise, Education, and Aviation WORLDWIDE.

How to think Apple sold 70 million of these devices in one quarter.

All my business associates and friends switched from BB.

Rimm's market share fall came about from users switching from Blackberry phones.

The new Z10 is a good peice of hardware but the rest of the phone cannot yet compete.
Why would someone switch back in the high end market when you can"t use your bank or brokers app because it does not exist.

    Too little, too late....

So when I swipe between apps which are open ...
say between dictating on notes and then swipe over to read an email on an iPad...I am not really multi tasking but I am multi tasking.

So the new Z10 which has a ecosystem almost as good as an iPhone is actually better than an iPhone.

So the lack of satellite images in Maps on a Z10 is not really lacking an image?

    Huh?

The Premier 100 Conference focuses on both the business strategies and technologies that are transforming today’s organizations.

Meanwhile, Matt Hamblen talks to IT users at P100:

...nobody, out of about 20 CIOs and senior VP's of IT...said they would be endorsing or adopting the platform, except for one CIO who...said, "I only use BlackBerry because my boss wants us to." ... At a luncheon...I also asked a group of eight CIOs...if anybody was moving to the new BlackBerry device, and everybody but the current BlackBerry user shook his head...some even grunted, almost in disgust.
    ...
One of the CIO's cornered me later and said..."All that doesn't matter if the users buy something else as their phone." ...in a Bring Your Own Device world, the users get to decide what works. ...one CIO told me, "We battled the users over BYOD and the users won.".

  • Apple: Is It Really Too Cheap To Ignore? [View article]
    Three cheers for Samsung innovation...

    Copied the iPhone
    Copied the iPad
    Copied the Mac air
    Copied the Pass book app

    Coming soon ...more innovation....

A copied OS from Apple and Android combined.

During the past four years when earnings went from 7 billion to 56 billion, Apple's P/E never exceeded 20.

Today Whirlpool has a P/E 130% higher than Apple, has lost revenue during this period, has a lower dividend, and billion of debt. That's just one example.

So any article about Apple's valuation being questionable is nonsense.

70 million iOS devices sold last quarter ...not bad for @getting back in the game?

How many has BB sold of their Z10 which looks and runs very very similar to the iPhone?

iOS devices are already being used by the military....in the air and on the ground.

I am quite sure the security issues are non issues.

BB does now own the "Security of mobile devices" anymore.

Try and do a little research on the number of companies providing the same security service which BB provided.

How to think BB market share dropped to less than 10%.

You are dreaming if you think any of these businesses are going back to what BB once dominated.

    Not good news for BB....

The Pentagon's budget for BlackBerry 10 device testing will be cut dramatically in the near future, and with the Department of Defense finishing up testing on Android devices and Apple's iOS, the already struggling Canadian handset maker may lose even more ground in an industry where it was once a dominant force.

Thursday's news could signify a considerable blow to BlackBerry, which has counted large organizations such as the DoD among its most faithful clientele for some time. The enterprise sector, though, is increasingly turning to Apple's iOS platform, and to a lesser extent Google's Android OS, for its information technology needs, .

There are currently about 470,000 BlackBerry devices in daily use at the DoD, none of which run BB 10 outside of the pilot program. The most recent financial reports for BlackBerry showed the company at about 78 million total subscribers worldwide.

iOS is on its 6 th version and today is the most stable OS.

BB users on all the forums are reporting numerous bugs in the new system. This is to be expected and it will take time to work through them. But the OS on BB is still new and not very stable.

Just watch the you tube videos.

70 million iPhones and iPads sold last quarter.

That supports your comments pretty well.

Unfortunately your lack knowledge of the aviation industry and its use of iPads leaves you making insufficient rebuttals.

Flash for mobile has been discontinued.

I am a pilot and can direct you to an app called Foreflight.
    Also Jeppesen.

iPads are being used by most Medical Schools around the world. Along with the leading health care technolgy providers.

Making a comment without doing your research can lead you to look not so smart.

Next time you get in a commercial plane, peek in the cockpit..

You will notice iPads and iPhones being used for in flight navigation and pilot scheduling.

Why does the new BB look like the iPhone 5?

I live in a city of 2.5 million people and if I see two Blackberry phones being used that is it.

All my business acquaintances have told me they switched from BB to the iPhone.

What you are forgetting is that BB HAD the enterprise business and lost it for lack of innovating products.

The use of iPads and iPhones are the business tools currently being used.
