  • Apple iPhone 5: What Are The Implications From AT&T And Verizon? [View article]
As a buyer of 4 iPhone 5's and 1 iPhone 4 in October, there was a two week delay in getting phones from Verizon. It was not until early November that the new iPhone 5 was in stock.

As a previous Android owner, living through poor battery life and crashing apps and phones....27 consecutive reboots on my Android before it heated up and died. Another trip to Sprint and system restore. Enough is enough.

the iPhone hardware, iOS 6 software and iCloud syncing between the phones and iPad really " just works".

  • Apple - It's All About Earnings [View article]
New strategy ....selling my Apple and buying

Google, Netflix , amazon , VZ, and anything else with a higher P/E than Apple with a minimum P/E of 50.

Seems the higher P/E....higher stock price and higher 52 high.

Thanks to all the analysts for convincing me that my investment will be a winner.

If Apple's earnings increase over the past 4 years had been spread over 16 years their growth would be plus 20% for the 16 years. Punish Apple for accomplishing this in only 4 years. 40% haircut.

    Makes sense to me now.

  • Apple Is Still Cool [View article]
It's too bad that Apple's biggest competitor should be called

    As in
    iPhone copy
    Tablet copy (iPad )
    Laptop copy (Mac air)
    Passport app

    And coming soon....

No body talks about the blatant copying that Samsung does of Apple products. Just review some of the court documents and read how Samsung studied every little detail of the iPhone.

Samsung's new laptop is a direct ripoff of the Mac air. Just check out the side by side pictures.

The Apple Passport app just got ripped off with Samsung introducing their Wallet app with an icon and functionality the same as Passport.

OS rip off coming next. It's already in the works.

If people actually knew what was going on they would not be buying Samsung products.

  • Analyzing Apple's Past To Gain A Better Perception On Its Future [View article]
Wow someone writing about Apple with actual facts.

Start comparing Apple with Whirlpool and you will realize how distorted the market has become.

    Whirlpool. Sales down 5% y/y
    P/ E of 17.7
    Up 4 % today

Apple. Sales up 50% y/y for 5 years in a row
    P/E of 11
    No debt
    $120 billion of cash.

Apple down in an up market day.
Apple will make an iWasher and iDryer to compete.

  • The Mysterious Case of Apple's Missing Growth [View article]
As someone who had an Android phone for over two years, sat out the iPhone 4S in 2011 and waited for the iPhone 5....
I can tell you the WOW factor comes from a phone that does not crash, require factory resets every 3 months and the battery last all day. Add in the ecosystem,,,,, everything syncing from calendars, books, mail, contacts, documents, etc....
I have worked with computers and smartphones since the days of Palm.....I have lots of fun teaching people how to really use their smart phones.
Once I learned all the great features of the iOS 6 software on the iPhone , I can spend 30 minutes with someone and show them how to really make it work for you in business or pleasure. Add in an iPad and the and you have two devices working together that almost eliminate the needs for a laptop.
I have not had one person disagree with me after the demonstration. Yes the iPhone 5 was a major upgrade in hardware and software.
As far as screen size....there are the same number of icons on a Samsung phone , they are just spaced as little more apart. Same for text ...a few more words per line. Had that with my Android, and no I do not miss it. It's the functionality of the iphone 5 , iOS 6and icloud that still amazes me.

  • Apple: Do You Hear The Crickets? [View article]
AAPL stock price with a P/E of growth and non growth companies

KO pe of 20.......Apple stock price would be $882
VZ. Pe of $155....Apple stock would be $6836
    T. Pe of 30.....Apple stock would be $1323 of $23.57....Apple stock would be $1039 of 46.88.... Apple stockwould be $2067
IP. Pe of $27.29.....Apple stock would be $1203
FB. Pe of $1905...Apple stock would be $84011
AMZN. Pe of $3031.....Apple stock would $133,667

My point is Apple with their five year growth NEVER had a P/E higher than 22.

Someone please explain how you can value all these other companies, some with billions of debt higher than Apple.

  • Has Samsung Dethroned Apple? [View article]
Since Samsung DOES NOT release actual phone unit sales numbers how can any number reported be nothing more than a wild guess.

I used an a Samsung Android phone for almost three years....the widgets and gadgets were great for the two hour of battery life I got on the phone.

Oh and the system restores were loads of fun. After getting the phone fixed and being without it for two weeks, I got in the car powered it up and watched the phone reboot 17 times before the battery went out.

The current Samsung forums are full of people still reporting "flash crash" and poor battery life.

Yes I did get my first iPhone (5) this past December and can conclude I made the best smartphone choice for quality, ease of use, productivity and fun apps.

Phones are personal choices. Samsung has done a great job copying th iPhone , iPad, Mac air, and passbook app with their wallet app....I look forward to their OS which will probably come from both Android and iOS so it does appear to be copied.

  • Apple: Is It Really Too Cheap To Ignore? [View article]
    Three cheers for Samsung innovation...

    Copied the iPhone
    Copied the iPad
    Copied the Mac air
    Copied the Pass book app

    Coming soon ...more innovation....

A copied OS from Apple and Android combined.

During the past four years when earnings went from 7 billion to 56 billion, Apple's P/E never exceeded 20.

Today Whirlpool has a P/E 130% higher than Apple, has lost revenue during this period, has a lower dividend, and billion of debt. That's just one example.

So any article about Apple's valuation being questionable is nonsense.

  • The Massive Underperformance Of Apple Vs. Amazon [View article]
70 million units of iPhones and smartphones sold in one quarter.

The largest future technology markets for the next five years are tablets and smartphones. Apple invented and started both.

    What am I missing?

Education, medical, aviation, education, and Enterprise are all finding uses for these two devices like we cannot even imagine.

  • Apple: Do You Hear The Crickets? [View article]
I agree the future is what counts...but....what have they demonstrated for five years....growth number the likes NO OTHER COMPANY HAS EVER ACHIEVED,!

If Apple had grown 20% a year for 16 years instead of 60% a year for five years ..the stock would be trading like Netflix and Amazon...

Apple was never.....never given a valuation equal to its growth.
Now that it has gone from 32 billion in revenue to $160 billion in revenue in 4 years...The company cannot grow billions on billions more. It is not possible. But to valued at a big discount to the market makes no sense.

But to give a 40% haircut to its stock during the most successful quarter in the history of technology companies....

My point is if Apple was to drop 40% it should have been from a much higher stock price.

The cash flow from Apple going forward is worth more than any other company in the s and p 500..

Even if their revenue drops 20%

I am an accountant and know that you can start from the top or you can start at the bottom looking at numbers. When they are this impressive you do not lag the whole market the way Apple is.

You just can't have it both ways....

  • Apple: Last Year I Said Sell -- Buy Now? [View article]
Your analysis is wayyyyyy off the mark....

Based on Amazons P/E ratio .

Apples stock price would be $133,667 per share.

One of these companies generated $427 million dollars A DAY of revenue and $137 million dollars of Cash Flow PER DAY..

I will let your do your own research on which company is Apple and which one is Apple.

    Get to work....

  • BlackBerry Outsells Competition At The U.K.'s Largest Retail Store And In Business Sales [View article]

  • Apple: Up 10% From The Bottom And Going Higher [View article]
You forgot that people upgrade their phones on a two to three cycle. This planed obsolescence means sales continue over and over again.

As smartphone apps continue to control our daily life experiences , there is a reason to upgrade to the latest technology.

Emerging markets are now just getting a taste of smartphones as their carriers upgrade from 2g, 3 g to LTE 4 g. Just look at China, this cycle is just starting.

  • BlackBerry: Z Is For Zero [View article]
My prior phone was an Android that I use for almost three years. The custom gadgets, widgets and shortcuts destroyed my battery life. In almost 3 years I never had ONE OS UPDATE that did not crash my phone. I became an expert on system restores. I would never go back to Android.

My first exposure to iOS was with the iPad. Now with an iPhone 5 with super fast LTE cell speed and an iPad I have found these two devices to be supported by an ecosystem of mail, calendar, contacts, apps, etc.... all syncing, backin up.

The Apple platform is easy to setup and is a great business tool.
No one else has hardware, software and an ecosystem to match.

    Works great for me.
