Smokeyjoe21.... Ahhh.. hate to tell you this but the Rx "expansion" you are talking about isn't generating anything at the stores.. no one at the division level knows what the plan is and besides from "cleaning" them.. no one is doing anything with them except spending labor cleaning them.

Canada had solid sales and profit.....
We got a good price for them, but not sure it will do anything but "be a wash"... they are using the proceeds to pay off cheap date at 2%

  • A Bull Case For Safeway [View article]
I do not think Allen Cooke has ever worked in the grocery business, and don't think he knows the industry

Safeway is a mess... Very top heavy, no help in the stores. This used to be a $60 stock.

Current leadership has limited retail experierence

  • Safeway: Dividend Growth Stock Analysis [View article]
It used to be a $60 stock until Steve Burd destroyed the company. You ignored all that information.
With Bruce Everette retiring, Steve Burd retiring .. and them promoting in-house instead of outside we will get more of the same.

The company needed new leadership ( a retailer or a grocer)

They focus on squeezing water out of rocks (expenses) instead of running a grocery store.

Little if any help in the stores, tons of auditors.
