Cramer's Lightning Round - Groupon Can Rally Without Me (12/18/12)

by: Miriam Metzinger

Stocks discussed on the Lightning Round session of Jim Cramer's Mad Money TV Program, Tuesday December 18.

Bullish Calls:

Nucor (NYSE:NUE): "Nucor is saying things aren't looking so good, but the stock is still up, which tells me that Nucor is a better bet (than U.S. Steel)."

Bristol Myers (NYSE:BMY): "I know it sounds boring, but my charitable trust owns BMY, and I prefer it (to HCA Holdings). I like to sleep at night."

Bearish Calls:

Groupon (NASDAQ:GRPN): "It has a lot of deals that I'm not that crazy about. My take is that it is not a great stock. It can rally, but it is going to have to rally without me."

U.S. Steel (NYSE:X): "There was a very positive article about U.S. Steel, how the oil (companies) need the tubing they make, but ... Nucor is the better bet."

Honeywell (NYSE:HON): "The stock hit a 52 week high. That is not my scenario, buying at a 52 week high. Let it come in."

Cliffs Natural Resources (NYSE:CLF): "It is a bit of a value trap. That said, we are in an interesting moment where stocks like this are rallying as selling seems to be abating. I don't want you in this stock next year. I want you out of it by the year's end. I don't want to see that quarter."

HCA Holdings (NYSE:HCA): "This situation is getting better, but it is not what I really like."

SandRidge Permian Basin Trust (NYSE:PER): "I was going over all of these oil trusts ... we know every single one of them is going down. There is too much of a glut in American oil. I think you are fine, but people are saying PER is having a hard time. It is a little discomforting."
