Here's what WebSideStory (ticker: WSSI) CEO Jeff Lunsford said about keyword bid management on his February 9th conference call discussing the acquisition of Atomz:

Our in-house development project to build bid management tools is progressing well and we anticipate a product launch in April with our first customers going live in June or July. This service, which will be sold bundled and standalone… leverages a great deal of the data we collect for customers today to improve insight into keyword performance.

We believe “Bid”, as we're going to call this application, will leapfrog most established players, given its common user interface and data integration with HBX.

This suite will enable customers to achieve 4 primary business objectives… which… are critical success factors for almost any business with a Web presence. (1) improve their online marketing performance's site effectiveness using HBX Web analytics.
(2) improve their site search results with Search.
(3) optimize their keyword management with Bid.
(4) streamline and optimize their Web content management processes with an on demand Web content management solution.

All 4 applications fit within our strategy of preserving a neutral position in the market, positioning WebSideStory to prosper from growth in online marketing, whether it's done through PPC networks, banner networks, affiliate networks or e-mail service providers. This neutrality is an important aspect of our strategy.
