Cramer's Lightning Round - Don't Lose Faith in Retail (11/17/09)

Includes: ALSK, GES, GME, HD, JCG, S
by: Miriam Metzinger

Stocks discussed on the lightning round session of Jim Cramer's Mad Money TV Program, Tuesday November 17.

Bullish Calls:

Guess (NYSE:GES), Home Depot (NYSE:HD), J. Crew (JCG): "Retail is en fuego. One of the things that's happened is that companies have decided that they're not going to sell everything unless they make money. That's the ticket... that's why all these go up. I think Guess is great. I like J. Crew more than Guess, but Guess is good. By the way, I think, and feel very strongly that Home Depot... is also a buy. Do not lose faith in retail."

Bearish Calls:

Sprint-Nextel (NYSE:S): "I cannot recommend the stock. I think you ought to sell, sell, sell! There's just not enough here. If we get it on takeovers, this company would have been bought already."

Gamestop (NYSE:GME): "I can't get behind GameStop... not because they aren't a great company, but because they don't have enough good stuff to sell. Sell, sell, sell!"

Alaska Communications (NASDAQ:ALSK): "The yield's up to 12%. We need the CEO of Alaska [Liane Pelletier]... we need her back on. We've got to. I can't make a judgment on a 12% yield. It's just too dicey for me, and I'm afraid I'm going to hurt you, and I don't want to do that."
