Cramer's Lightning Round - Amazon Naysayers, Eat Lead! (12/14/09)

by: Miriam Metzinger

Stocks discussed on the lightning round session of Jim Cramer's Mad Money TV Program, Monday December 14.

Bullish Calls:

Amazon (NASDAQ:AMZN): "Oh! Use this weakness to buy!... Buy, buy, buy!... There are some naysayers on the Amazon story. The stock is up huge. Here's what I say to you naysayers... Eat Lead!..."

State Street (NYSE:STT), Bank of New York Mellon Corp (NYSE:BK): "You've got horse sense... that stock is way too beaten down. And I'm going to throw in Bank of New York Mellon Corp.... I'm giving you a two-fer... I like both of those."

Starbucks (NASDAQ:SBUX): "I think it's a buy, buy, buy!... I think they've turned it around. Now, let me just say this... So I'm going to Dunkin' Donuts this morning, and the line is like out the door... so I go to Starbucks and get the Triple Venti Cappuccino with skim, wet... for $4.67... and I am out of there, boom... in three minutes! Starbucks is now faster than Dunkin' Donuts. I think it says something!"

Baker Hughes (BHI), Halliburton (NYSE:HAL), Nabors (NYSE:NBR), BJ Services (BJS): "I like the stock (Baker Hughes) very much. Now, just so we're clear, Halliburton Company and Nabors are the two biggest beneficiaries of the XTO Energy purchase by Exxon Mobil, but I think that the Baker Hughes/BJ Services merger is going to be absolutely terrific and I would stick with it. I think that, if you own BHI, you should double down if the stock comes in even more."

New York Community Bancshares (NYB): "I think that the equity offering was a success. I should have pushed that thing harder... that was my bad. I'm still looking into it, with the hope that it drops down after the Citigroup deal, so we can pull some triggers, and buy some NYB, because they just got the gift from Sheila Bair... one of the greatest gifts I've ever seen."

Tiffany (NYSE:TIF), Nordstrom (NYSE:JWN), Kohl's (NYSE:KSS), Best Buy (NYSE:BBY): "The stock's (Wal-Mart) had a big move, and I like the more aggressive names like a Tiffany & Co., I like a Nordstrom Inc. better... I like Kohl's better and, best of all, I think that anything... anything... that has to do with Best Buy which reports Tuesday, could be explosive... That's tomorrow's business."

Bearish Calls

Wal-Mart (NYSE:WMT): "That stock's had a big move, and I like more aggressive names."
