Cramer's Lightning Round - I'm Surprised No One Put Avid Out Of Its Misery (1/3/14)

by: Miriam Metzinger

Stocks discussed on the Lightning Round segment of Jim Cramer's Mad Money Program, Friday January 3.

Bullish Calls:

Eaton (NYSE:ETN): "We think it can go higher. We don't want you to sell. I know it has had a big run."

Lorillard (NYSE:LO): "It is okay. Here's the problem; it has no growth. I don't like stocks that have no growth ... I'm not going to recommend it."

Radian (NYSE:RDN), Genworth (NYSE:GNW): "I like Radian. I like Genworth even more, because Genworth has a lot of moving parts that can be sold off."

Groupon (NASDAQ:GRPN): "I like it because it changed management. It goes higher."

SunPower (NASDAQ:SPWR), First Solar (NASDAQ:FSLR): "SunPower is good, but First Solar is very inexpensive."

Bearish Calls:

Avid Technology (NASDAQ:AVID): "I've known this company for years. I'm surprised no one has taken it over and put it out of its misery. It may have a comeback. Since you've held it for so many years, keep holding, because it isn't expensive."

Sierra Wireless (NASDAQ:SWIR): "This is a component player. Sell 25% on Monday."

Silicon Graphics (NASDAQ:SGI): "We recommended it many years ago, and I can't believe it came back to life. This does high-end servers. That is a crowded space. I don't want to own it."
