East West Bancorp: A Stealth China Play And Financial Bridge Between East And West

For a while now, anything related to China and investing has invoked immediate interest among US investors. In some cases, such as Chinese reverse IPOs and Sino Forest among others, the lack of credible financial statements makes anything related to China much less valuable. In other cases, like Mead Johnson (NYSE:MJN) or Yum Brands (NYSE:YUM), the China connection and the growth opportunities associated with a large developing nation, lead the stock to command very high multiples. One stock that I believe belongs in the latter category, yet has been overlooked by the market thus far, is East West Bancorp (NASDAQ:EWBC).
