Cramer's Lightning Round - When NICE Stocks Get Hammered (6/28/10)

by: Miriam Metzinger

Stocks discussed on the lightning round session of Jim Cramer's Mad Money TV Program, Monday June 28.

Bullish Calls

NICE Systems (NASDAQ:NICE): "You know I think that it is a great company… but you know what? You said the right thing… it has been hammered… so has every company in the security business...I think that we have to step back and realize that the companies are not… we are not paying up for companies' earnings… but that will change eventually… that company has great earnings momentum… I think that it will come back… I want you to hold onto it."

Apple (NASDAQ:AAPL): "If you want to have a play on wireless, you know that I am going to send you to Apple."

Coinstar (NASDAQ:CSTR), Netflix (NASDAQ:NFLX): "I like that Red Box business… I think that the Red Box business is terrific… Coinstar is good, but you know that Netflix is my favorite… so while I like Coinstar, I think there should be room for Netflix in a portfolio that wants super high growth."

Clean Energy Fuels (NASDAQ:CLNE): "Clean Energy is a stock that you want to keep… but that is a speculative stock... it does not have earnings... and if they do not get a bill that goes thru this year in Congress... it will go down without Congressional help… I want everyone to know that you need Congress on your side… and so far it has not been forthcoming."

Copano Energy LLC (NASDAQ:CPNO): "Alright, there was a big Master Limited Partnership fund that just raised a billion dollars... they can lever up… that stock hit a near 52 week high today…I want you to stay in it… but beware these stocks are pumped by that big mutual fund that is taking in all the money... it is going to be a closed end fund... it is remarkable how much people want these high yielding stocks… we got in early… be aware that they are still going higher… do not get too greedy."

Bristol Myers Squibb (NYSE:BMY): "If you want to have a high yielder, Bristol Myers is at 5% with more earning momentum than Pfizer… so we are going to sell Pfizer and we are going to buy BMY… so we keep that yield going."

Bearish Calls

Palm (PALM): "No, Palm is done… Hewlett-Packard is buying Palm… the market is saying that that stock is done... it is going to be taken over... I would rather find another play."

Best Buy (NYSE:BBY): "I think the market is way too competitive… there are just too many companies shooting at Best Buy… I say that we stay away…I do not see a bottom yet for the company…it did have a good quarter and it went down anyway.. what happens if it has a bad quarter? So I say stay away from BBY."

Pfizer (NYSE:PFE): "I saw it at a 5% yield... but you know what? I need earnings momentum… and Pfizer has no earnings momentum...we are going to sell Pfizer and buy Bristol Myers."

Sequenom (NASDAQ:SQNM): "That is a tainted security... until I see something good from them I am not getting behind that company… there is too much failure there… be very careful."
