Cramer's Stop Trading! Northrop Grumman's Model Buyback (7/29/10)

by: Miriam Metzinger

Stocks discussed on Jim Cramer's Stop Trading! TV Segment, Thursday July 29.

Skechers (NYSE:SKX), Steve Madden (NASDAQ:SHOO), Jones Apparel (NYSE:JNY), Deckers (NASDAQ:DECK), Williams Sonoma (NYSE:WSM), Bed Bath & Beyond (NASDAQ:BBBY), Northrop Grumman (NYSE:NOC)

Cramer is still enthusiastic about the bull market in shoes, as Skechers (SKX) and Steve Madden (SHOO) outshone the rest of retail with their strong quarters. Positive remarks about shoe sales were also made by Jones Apparel (JNY) and Deckers (DECK).

Housewares is another area of retail that is performing well, and Cramer would recommend Williams Sonoma (WSM), but would keep some distance from Bed Bath & Beyond (BBBY) which has been trading poorly.

Cramer defended Northrop Grumman's (NOC) share buyback plan, and noted the company has retired 10% of its stock since 2006; "This is a buyback that is a model for what I’d like to see from companies.”
