Cramer's Lightning Round - It Is Not the End of the World, Buy Potash (2/23/11)

by: Miriam Metzinger

Stocks discussed on the Lightning Round session of Jim Cramer's Mad Money TV Program, Wednesday February 23.

Bullish Calls

Potash (POT), Mosaic (NYSE:MOS): "Everyone is selling everything that is commodity because people think it is the end of the world. I have it from good order that it is not the end of the world...deep in the money call strategy for Potash right here and right now will make you a lot of money. Last I looked, there are still people running out of food. Last thing I looked, there are still people trying to eat better. This is a play on the middle classfication of the world. I think Potash has to be bought."

CF Industries (NYSE:CF), Agrium (AGU): "This was a pure and simple kind of sell-off I think it is ready to go, and I'm going to say the same thing about Agrium, and I'm going to say the same thing about Potash."

Baidu (NASDAQ:BIDU): "Let's stick with Baidu."

Bearish Calls

Cirrus Logic (NASDAQ:CRUS): "In 1990's oil spike and the 2008 oil spike, these kind of high growth tech stocks went down more than 15%. It is simply following the playbook of what happened the other times. There is nothing different. You have to tough it out. Ring the register because it is not one of the stocks that works, and I have pulled back my bullishness because 2008 and 1990 say that stock won't work until you get a resolution in Libya."

Intuitive Surgical (NASDAQ:ISRG): "It is a high multiple stock...those stocks always go down in an area when rates have to go up... because of inflation. That's typical of the process, and that is why you have to back off from these stocks until we get some clarity, becasue these have been hammered in this envrionment...If you are interested in buying this one, you are going to be able to catch it down another 5-10 precent."

China-Biotics (OTC:CHBT): "That is much, much too hard a story. These Chinese stocks other than Baidu...are heartbreakers."
