For companies that report after the close, we use the next day's change.) Below we have updated our list of the best performing stocks on their report days so far this earnings season.
As shown, Ancestry.com (NASDAQ:ACOM) currently holds the top spot with a gain of 42.55% on its report day. ReachLocal (NASDAQ:RLOC) ranks second with a one-day gain of 33.57% on its report day, followed by SCSS (30.29%), LOOP-OLD (28.11%), and TZOO (27.55%).
In the second table, we highlight just the top performing stocks on their report days in the S&P 500. Supervalu (NYSE:SVU) holds onto the top spot in the S&P 500 with a one-day gain of 16.85%. Biogen (NASDAQ:BIIB) and SLM Corp (NYSE:SLM) rank second and third with gains of 15.17% and 12.79% respectively. Goodyear Tire (NYSE:GT) is the only other S&P 500 name that has gained more than 10% on its report day this earnings season.
