Cramer's Lightning Round - JCPenney Could Be Too Much for Anyone (7/28/11)

by: Miriam Metzinger

Stocks discussed on the Lightning Round session of Jim Cramer's Mad Money TV Program, Thursday July 28.

Bullish Calls:

VFCorp (NYSE:VFC), Ralph Lauren (NYSE:RL), Jones Group (NYSE:JNY): (Cramer was naming stocks he likes better than Oxford Industries) "We've got VFCorp, best of've got Ralph Lauren pulling back...Jones is down here at $12-13."

Schlumberger (NYSE:SLB), Ensco (NYSE:ESV): "I've got SLB all the way down...if you want offshore, you've got Ensco...much better than Transocean."

Baidu (NASDAQ:BIDU): "The only stock I am recommending in all of China."

Neutral Calls:

Fifth Street Finance (NYSE:FSC): (Cramer is concerned about its 11% dividend) "I don't know if it can pay that dividend. I have to do work every time I see a dividend north of 10%...we are going to have to see about that story."

Ariba (NASDAQ:ARBA): "I have tried to understand Ariba and it has mystified me...I can't get my arms around it, so why should I get on here and say 'buy' or 'sell'? I just don't understand why the company right now is doing so well...I just don't know how they make the money."

Bearish Calls:

JCPenney (NYSE:JCP): "I am going to wait two quarters...JCP is going to be a very tough situation to fix...even Ron Johnson...even though he is a miracle man...JCP could be too much for anyone."

Waste Management (NYSE:WM): "That was a bad quarter...municipal contracts were bad, they did an acquisition...they have a 4% yield. I can't own it for yield."

Transocean (NYSE:RIG): "There was a time...when I said that was a good idea...(Schlumberger and Ensco) are much better than RIG."

Paccar (NASDAQ:PCAR): "Reported a bad number and Cummins reported a good number...we are best of breed buyers and worst of breed sellers."

Oxford Industries (NYSE:OXM): "...we've got of breed...and you reach down to Oxford? You are playing with fire...don't even think about it."
