Bullish investors in Chemours are perilously ignoring the Flint Michigan-like massive pollution of a wide swath of North Carolina with carcinogenic DuPont Teflon Toxins.

In the last 24 hours, Wilmington N.C. and County officials are demanding that the N. C. Dept of Environmental Quality shut down all production of the huge Fayetteville Works, upstream on the Fear River. Federal authorities commenced investigations in December, 2017. Potential costs could be very substantial for this ill-capitalized spin-off from DuPont.

Some years ago, funfun did not predict a merger of DD with another company. Instead, funfun predicted that tort litigation would destroy DD. He was absolutely wrong.
Some years ago this same malcontent predicted the same fate for CC when it was selling at about 10.

As we predicted some years ago, after two decades of gross mismanagement, malmanagement, and excessive micro-management, E. I. du Pont de Nemours and Company has met its demise, effectively conglomerated with and subsumed by twice as large Dow Chemical.

Ironically, two other major investments by the du Pont Family of Delaware in the last century met their demise:

* Generals Motors went bankrupt, and

* The Wilmington Trust Company crushed by internal fraud became insolvent and was rescued by an acquiring bank based in upstate New York.

Funfun is obsessed with a scary hatred of DWDP. He predicted the demise of DD and CC years ago. Anyone who followed his advice and sold either of those companies lost piles of money.
...funfun... is on the ball.

The "Industry-Leading" bragging by Management is misplaced.

The world leader in genetically modified seeds is Monsanto, soon to be Bayer. Monsanto has the defined lead, which is not likely to be toppled by the lumbering DuPont/Dow bureaucracy.

The world leader in agricultural chemicals is Syngenta, followed by BASF and Bayer. Dow/DuPont will remain in the back of the pack.

But boy were you wrong about CC.

The jury is still out on Chemours, literally, as this debt-choked DuPont toxic waste spin-off is awash in adverse litigation including more than one $billion lawsuit.
