I just bought more. Averaged down from $54. I hope I’m reading this right, but 70% GM with the revenue growth they have just seems to make sense. PE is only high because of the one-time repatriation of overseas money. If you normalize for that, PE seems reasonable to me for the growth. Plus with tax reform, I anticipate a large wave of CAPEX in the US.

They mentioned in their annual report that their China revenues make up about ~10% if I remember correctly. Europe comprises the bulk of their revenue followed by the US I think.

This company has been a clear winner for me. Because of the pullback I am trying to decide about adding to my position. Can anyone discuss CGNX exposure to China? How much would they be hit by a trade war? I realize nobody can predict the future but my question is more general, like would the hit be huge? average? less than average? Based on the excellent fundamentals, I am inclined to buy, but the China trade war variable is my major concern.

My first home run. Sorry I sold my entire position many years ago. Looking at it with a fresh perspective using my investing experience. One of those under the radar stocks.

Good question...the stock lost 30 % in the last month despite the rather strong stock market in general.
It wa always named a leader in automation, revenue (CAGR) was
22 % over the last 5 years, to me it looks strong at these levels, especially when you consider a 3-5 years investment horizon. I think.
