Dear Seeking Alpha user,

Happy New Year and thanks for being a loyal Seeking Alpha user! We wanted to share an important update which will be taking place in January 2021. In order to continue providing outstanding financial analysis and news, we are changing our paywall policy effective January 4th. The paywall will no longer be limited to a group of specific articles. The good news is that even without a paid subscription, you will now be able to access any article on any stock. However, there will also be a monthly limit on how many articles you can read for free. Once you reach your limit, in order to read additional articles, you will be asked to subscribe to Seeking Alpha Premium.

You may be asking yourself why Seeking Alpha would want to limit your ability to read articles. The answer is that building a healthy subscription business is the only way for us to reward our contributors and make Seeking Alpha truly valuable for our users.

Digital advertising is facing increasing headwinds for everyone other than Google, Facebook and a handful of others. If we are dependent on ad revenue, we will have limited ability to invest in news, provide accurate market data, ensure our website and apps load fast and without bugs, and be able to continue to pay our contributors who fuel the valuable analysis you currently enjoy. Additionally, we don’t want our business to be grounded in “selling your eyeballs” to advertisers. We want to provide you with an experience that you value, and to be able to pay our contributors what they deserve.

There are three reasons you should subscribe to Seeking Alpha Premium:

  1. You don’t know what you’re missing. We have invested massively in building Seeking Alpha Premium into a product to help you invest more successfully. For example, Premium provides Quant Ratings and Factor Grades on each stock. The Quant Ratings massively beat the market, and the Factor Grades give you an instant snapshot of each stock’s strengths and weaknesses based on objective metrics, with full transparency into the underlying data. Here’s a full list of everything you get in Premium which you don’t get as a free user.
  2. If you’ve benefited from our contributors, you should support them. If you read and appreciate Seeking Alpha articles, you should support our contributors. They spend hours working on each article, and advertising does not support them. We can only pay our contributors what they deserve if our users subscribe to Premium. If you’ve read articles by Seeking Alpha contributors, and made money from them, reward them by becoming a Premium subscriber.
  3. Seeking Alpha Premium will help you make money. Unlike many other finance and business websites, we have one clear goal: to raise the success of your investing. A Seeking Alpha Premium subscription will more than pay for itself, in contrast to news and entertainment subscriptions. It’s a no-brainer investment.

More than 70,000+ investors have already subscribed to Premium and have unlimited access to all that Seeking Alpha Premium has to offer. Please support Seeking Alpha and our contributors, and do yourself a favor: try Premium for free.

Wishing you much success in your investing in the coming year and looking forward to continuing to provide you with the research and tools that will help you reach your goals.
