So just to catch folks up about some goings on here.
This past weekend "some" have taken it upon themselves to act as sensors of this blog and have been reporting comments that are really not offensive at all except for the fact they disagree with the thoughts, ideas, or opinions being shared and expressed.

So I performed a little experiment -

Dave Crosetti posted the following -

"So, there is no way that an individual can delete your post. Instead, your post has to be deemed "offensive" by the people that review those things and then, it either stays or goes".

I informed Dave through personal IM I was going to report one of his posts as something "I deemed Offensive". (I actually found nothing offensive about the post at all) It was a humorous little quip about Easter eggs and Biden.

No Moderator would have found it offensive either. There were no cuss words, no personal attacks etc.. None the less I reported it (letting Dave know I was doing so in advance)

Well lo and behold - vapor... Dave's Post has been removed. Why? because I took it upon myself to act as a Censor for his otherwise humorous and harmless Easter quip.

The point is - If all read the top of this Politics and the Markets thread it specifically states - The comments below are NOT regulated with the same rigor as the rest of the site, and this is an 'ENTER AT YOUR OWN RISK' area as discussion can get very heated. IF YOU CAN'T STAND THE HEAT.. you know what they say...(Feel free to scroll up and read it for yourselves).

It's one thing to report an actual personal attack (Dave's post had none of that). It's another to Censor someones point of view just cause you may disagree with what they are saying.

After all isn't that what some have been railing against with Twitter, FB and silencing the conservative voice, cancel culture whine as of late?. Yet it appears here it's not the more liberal folks posting doing the censoring.

- Sorry for the loss of your post Dave. Some Folks here need to grow up.

So now you all understand "who is zoomin who" when they try and hide behind "A moderator deemed it" BS. A moderator removed it because "an individual deemed it" and reported it. As I said there was nothing Abusive about Dave's post. I took it upon myself to report it as abusive.

I will be re-posting this comment on tomorrows blog as well.

This board is "passively" moderated. Where as DGR Chit Chat is actively moderated By Ron, Chowder actively moderates his own etc..

So comments Here are removed only when childish douche bags report them to SA as somehow offensive etc and yet these same people are first to scream about Twitter banning folks, cancel culture, 1st amendment etc...

Their Hypocrisy escapes no one

Those here flagging others comments for removal on Politics and Markets cannot hide behind a passively moderated board and then blame a moderator when they themselves were the one who pushed the notify button.

I saw that movie but can't recall the title.
The survivors in a dystopian world with clubs and sharp sticks kill the last of those with guns when they run out of ammunition.

I think the moral of the movie was, Guns aren't the solution, Guns are the problem.

No. The "moral" of the story is that people don't need guns to kill other people effectively. They can kill with clubs, baseball bats, two by fours, knives, bricks, rocks or anything they choose. Guns aren't the problem. People who want to kill other people are the problem.
