This is the forum for daily political discussion on Seeking Alpha. A new version is published every market day.

Please don't leave political comments on other articles or posts on the site.

The comments below are not regulated with the same rigor as the rest of the site, and this is an 'enter at your own risk' area as discussion can get very heated. If you can't stand the heat... you know what they say...

The one guideline we do still require strict adherence to is refraining from personal attacks on fellow commenters. Regardless of which side of the political divide you find yourself, please be courteous and don't direct abuse at other users.

A colloquialism is as follows:

Somebody wants to challenge my scientific statements, then I am 100% up for a good debate. Somebody gonna tell me how to spell words, then I refer you to the definition above.

I look forward to continuing in this "political" conversation, and I reckon this one that commenced on August 30th is getting a tad long in the tooth. So I propose an end to today's conversation. Can I get a second on that?

Regardless....
May the best ideas win!

Look for an Afghan restaurant if you are fond of ethnic dishes.
Please take a peek at the 10 Most Popular AFGHAN FOODS.

"The crown of Afghan cuisine, Kabuli pulao is often said to have been originally created by the upper-class families of Kabul who could afford to prepare this elaborate meat and rice dish. Over time, pulao had spread across the country and changed its name to qabili pulao, derived from the Dari word qabil, meaning capable or able, as it was considered that only a truly skilled chef could make a good Afghan-style pilaf.

Moreover, an Afghan woman's marriage prospects are said to depend on her ability to make qabili palau. This national dish traditionally consists of steamed long-grained rice mixed with caramelized carrots, raisins, almonds, and chunks of lamb meat, although chicken and beef are also often used."

Times have changed..

“All imams and mullahs in captured areas should provide the Taliban with a list of girls above 15 and widows under 45 to be married to Taliban fighters,”

It seems like Women no longer have to cook to find a husband in Afghanistan.

Luckily in our country men have evolved and no longer demand their wife to be their servants.

Do you think a woman’s place is in the kitchen?

@AbolishtheFed "Do you think a woman’s place is in the kitchen?"

No, a woman’s place is not in the kitchen unless she chooses a career as a chef. www.gayot.com/...

@crademan maybe it’s best not to celebrate a culture that oppresses women.

Do you expect the hundreds of thousands of Afghan immigrants to adopt western ways or look to subjugate women as is acceptable in there culture?

I was surprised to learn that 12 social media influencers are responsible for 73% of the anti-vaxxer propaganda. One operates a multimillion dollar business selling sham treatments and dietary supplements. Another is an ambulance chasing lawyer looking for cases he can profit from. Who knew?

"The largest anti-vaxxer influencer on social media, according to the report, is Joseph Mercola. Mercola is an alternative medicine promoter who runs a multimillion dollar online business selling treatments and dietary supplements. The FDA recently sent Mercola a warning over his sham treatments for COVID-19.

Another major culprit is Robert F. Kennedy, Jr. Kennedy, the nephew of John F. Kennedy, is perhaps one of the most high profile influencers in the anti-vaxxer community. Last month, Instagram banned him from the platform for violating the site’s coronavirus vaccine misinformation policy.

However, despite calls to deplatform him from Twitter and Instagram’s parent company, Facebook, Kennedy’s accounts remain on those social media services.

The other social media users in the “Disinformation Dozen” include Ty and Charlene Bollinger, Sherri Tenpenny, Rizza Islam, Rashid Buttar, Erin Elizabeth, Sayer Ji, Kelly Brogan, Christiane Northrup, Ben Tapper, and Kevin Jenkins." mashable.com/...

@crademan John Wilson has been trying his hardest to break into the top 12. He might be one of the top 12 on Seeking Alpha, though, if it's any consolation to him.

@Pinguino Investments The 12 social media influencers in the article are all trying to profit from the disinformation they post. I believe that John Wilson is sincere although misguided.

@crademan they sound like the CNN of bad medicine.

@Jack T Bonds Yup, anti-vax fake news form a website devoted to anti-vax propaganda.

Who would have guessed..
t
@DigDeep I read an article tied to the same issue and it is clear that Israel opened everything up too soon and then Delta hit. What these pieces of semi information fail to point out is the deaths of those not vaccinated and what percent of the vaccinated are actually in hospital. When an article says 90% of the seriously ill are vaccinated that does not mean that 90% of the vaccinated are seriously ill.

Bomb it to rubble and let it rot. That was Trump's plan for Afghanistan or at least, when asked by Stuart Varney, that was the impression he gave after, of course, alluding to shadowy (unnamed) forces controlling Biden. No wonder some on this board have such bizarre ideas. They listen only to Trump and Fox and OANN and Newsmax.
Jack T Bonds profile picture
@tewright2012 They also believed Trump would "bomb the sh*t out of" ISIS "and take all their oil," and "I'm going to build a wall and make Mexico pay for it." It's all loony talk.

China is going to start to push Biden harder.

“In a move that could have ramifications for the free passage of both military and commercial vessels in the South China Sea, Chinese authorities said on Sunday they will require a range of vessels “to report their information” when passing through what China sees as its “territorial waters”, starting from September 1.”
