Did John Durham deliberately ignore exculpatory documents that would have shown that investigators had reason to believe that there was a connection between the Trump Organization and Russia's Alpha Bank and Spectrum Health during the 2016 campaign? Time will tell but letters sent to both Durham and AG Garland seem to show that the investigators believed there most certainly was a connection.

I have finally figured out the method to Joe Biden's madness.

At first glance you would think that senile old Joe Biden is stark raving crazy the way he allows thousands of criminals and Covid 19 infected people to enter the United States from Mexico every single day.

But I have finally figured out what senile old Joe Biden is thinking in his crazy mind.

He's thinking that all of those thousands of criminals and Covid 19 infected illegal aliens that are streaming into the USA every single day are going to invest their money in the stock market. Keeping the bull market alive.

Joe was always good at back slapping and sniffing hair. But economics was never his strong suit.

As the GOP marches lockstep with Trump into autocracy, the Dems run around like chickens with their heads cut off, unable to accomplish much of anything. Still, I have no intention of voting for anyone in the morally bankrupt GOP.

@tewright2012 The GOP has become the party of QAnuts, racists, xenophobes, homophobes, and whiny old white men who care more about kneeling at football games than about combating the pandemic.

@tewright2012 Lets face it buddy, we have a dirty (as in accepting gifts) president, who has said many raciest things, been accused of sexually abusing woman ( our vice president said it herself during their President debate. And your preaching "morality".

@nallennod And did you ever say anything when trump was in office. He certainly had many, many moral issues, is old, half crazy and angry at the world.

There is a big hullabaloo going on in Texas about trans kids and sports.

I'm having trouble grasping the popularity of trans kids.

Back when I was in elementary school, we didn't have any trans kids.

We just had thin white kids. And one fat white kid that got picked on a lot.

But the times they are a-changin'.

You have no idea what changes I have to deal wth.

They keep telling me to download an app.

Sorry.

I'm old.

I don't download apps.

And mobile payments?

Forget about it.

I finally started using a credit card last year.

And back in my day, you didn't see people running around with tattoos and piercings.

Now they pierce everything.

Even dicks.

I've lost count of the pierced dicks that I've seen bobbing about.

And they tattoo everything.

If you ask me, that's disfigurement.

But I'm from the old school.

Our parents never drove us to school.

We used to have to walk three miles to school.

Even during blizzards.

Without mittens.

And back in my day, boys took shop classes and girls took home economics.

Makes perfect sense.

The girls have to learn how to cook for their families.

And the boys have to learn how to make furniture in the garage.

Now everything is all mixed up with all of those trans folks and people with tattoos and piercings.

I told my three kids that I would disinherit them if they ever got a tattoo or a piercing.

So far they have listened. Knock on wood.

But my worst nightmare would be having my daughter come home and tell me that she's changed her name to Chuck.

The idea that CO2 is causing climate change is totally false. The concept has bee foisted on us first by the environmental community in the 50's-60's, then te politicians discovered they could tax companies because of their CO2 emissions. I have studied paleo-climates and do not believe CO2 is strong enough to cause climate change. As an example: We know we had 4 Ice Ages in the last 163,000 years. Those Ice Ages started and ended because of the cycles of the sun. And the same thing is happening now. You have to think in Geologic time, not human time!! J. Kerry's prediction of only 9 years to change our ways is pure rubbish! The earth does not change dramatically in human time.

Idiot politicians. Do they not see the harm they have already caused? All this ESG-wokeness has already led to supply destruction and because of this, it is adding to the already sky high inflation, due to poor economic policies by the morons in charge.
Demoncraps fail at everything..

@123098567432 Sky High inflation? Are you absolutely daft?

School board elections are coming up next week. These are generally not widely followed so turnout is usually low. Do a little research and vote; there will be rightwingnuts on your ballot.

@Henry Miles " Do a little research and vote; there will be rightwingnuts on your ballot."

There will be CRT socialists trying to cling to power too.

But I get your point: rightwingnuts = parents against CRT.
A
@Henry Miles support ‘Mom’s for Liberty’. They are you best defense against the anti-American CRITICAL RACE THEORY.

BLM and SOROS are backing these educational terrorists, donate to MOM’S FOR LIBERTY.
t
@John Wilson Right wing nuts have no idea what CRT is and do not realize that there is no formal curriculum of this so called theory being taught in schools. But too many of these ranting right wing nuts think the very mention of something like the Tulsa Massacre is CRT. You, sir, and all of these screaming and bullying idiots need to back off and do some research first AND, most of all, stop listening to Tucker Carlson and his band of fascists.

One of his irrelevant arguments was - yep, you guessed it - "But, but, but... BLM held protests three years later and they didn't get in trouble!" Whataboutism doesn't work on social media, and it doesn't work in a court of law.

@C. King Alpha Flunkie Equity is a leftist concept, hence they won't apply it to the right.
C. King Alpha Flunkie profile picture
@Gas Trader This is a civil suit that has nothing to do with "equity" (whatever you mean by that). The plaintiffs have to prove the defendants committed acts of violence against them; the defendants have to prove they did not. Mentioning protests that took place three years after the fact is irrelevant to the case. There's no lefty or righty in the civil suit, only the facts.

Florida’s First District Court of Appeal on Wednesday held that a Leon County judge’s decision blocking the DeSantis administration’s ban on school mask mandates is incorrect, in a win for the prominent Republican governor.

In September, Leon County Judge John C. Cooper “lifted an automatic stay of his decision … that Republican Gov. Ron DeSantis and state education officials exceeded their authority by imposing the blanket ban through executive order and tagging defiant pro-mask local school boards with financial penalties” after initially blocking the order in August. This series of actions led DeSantis to file an emergency appeal to the First District Court of Appeals in Tallahassee, requesting a stay, which it ultimately granted.

The DeSantis administration scored another win Wednesday after the court explained why the Leon County judge was wrong. The appellate court explained it reinstated the stay because it “concluded that the appellees failed to carry their burden of demonstrating that they are likely to prevail on the merits.”

The full appeal is still pending, but DeSantis’ office said the ruling “shows that the Plaintiffs have little chance of saving the trial court’s ruling, so this is a win for Governor DeSantis and parents’ rights in Florida!”
C. King Alpha Flunkie profile picture
@PIRockford A win for parents' rights? What if (as appears to be the case in several Florida school districts) a majority of parents desire a mask mandate? Their rights are trampled on.

This should be about protecting the children (and vulnerable adults they may come in contact with), teachers and staff, not about some lofty idea of "parents' rights."

The Biden administration is mulling a plan to offer immigrant families separated during the Trump administration $450,000 per person in compensation, according to the Wall Street Journal, citing people familiar with the matter.

The payments - part of an inter-agency solution to several lawsuits filed on behalf of separated parents and children claiming lasting psychological trauma could amount to nearly $1 million per family, though 'the final numbers could shift', according to the report.

What will the reparations crowd think of this?
A
@PIRockford Biden has definitely lost his mind.
The Wall Street Journal has obtained and reviewed two dozen classified US intelligence assessments on Afghanistan from four different agencies including the CIA, DIA (Defense Intelligence Agency), the State Dept.'s intelligence bureau, and the Office of the Director of National Intelligence (ODNI).

All of them examined Taliban advances across the country from the spring of 2020 through the middle of last summer, and while they consistently forecast the eventual collapse of Afghan national forces if US support was withdrawn, not a single agency assessment foresaw the group's ultra-fast takeover of Kabul by August 15 and the entire country even as US forces were still on the ground attempting to evacuate personnel in Kabul.

Media reports in the months leading up to the chaotic and deadly evacuation efforts of August had earlier revealed that the most dire of CIA forecasts indicated a national government collapse at least six months out. Further into the summer US officials began indicating as little as a few months; however, as this latest bombshell WSJ report points out, US intelligence across the board failed to forecast what was in reality a mere weeks and days.

President Joe Biden during the disastrous Taliban takeover of Kabul in August came under fire for offering what were clearly overly optimistic assessments that US-backed national forces were capable of holding on even as US troops departed.

@PIRockford "not a single agency assessment foresaw the group's ultra-fast takeover of Kabul by August 15 and the entire country even as US forces were still on the ground attempting to evacuate personnel in Kabul."

We should stop calling them "intelligence agencies."

AT&T Corporation has created a racial reeducation program that promotes the idea that “American racism is a uniquely white trait” and boosts left-wing causes such as “reparations,” “defund police,” and “trans activism.” The company’s initiative, called Listen Understand Act, is based on the core principles of critical race theory, including “intersectionality,” “systemic racism,” “white privilege,” and “white fragility.”

CEO John Stankey launched the program last year and, subsequently, has told employees that private corporations such as AT&T have an “obligation to engage on this issue of racial injustice” and push for “systemic reforms in police departments across the country.”

According to a senior employee, who agreed to speak on condition of anonymity, managers at AT&T are now assessed annually on diversity issues, with mandatory participation in programs such as discussion groups, book clubs, mentorship programs, and race reeducation exercises. White employees, the source said, are tacitly expected to confess their complicity in “white privilege” and “systemic racism,” or they will be penalized in their performance reviews. As part of the overall initiative, employees are asked to sign a loyalty pledge to “keep pushing for change,” with suggested “intentions” such as “reading more about systemic racism” and “challenging others’ language that is hateful.” “If you don’t do it,” the senior employee says, “you’re [considered] a racist.” AT&T did not respond when asked for comment. www.documentcloud.org/... www.city-journal.org/...

After all the CNN crap, this is enough for me to divest AT&T from my portfolio. I will do so on the next rally, when and if that ever comes, spinoff be damned.
@PIRockford Stankey needs to show his commitment to Diversity. He needs to resign and appoint an African American to his position. He also needs to implement the change that the Board of Directors has a MAJORITY of Black/People of Color. That would show his true commitment to the cause, otherwise he is just perpetuating his White Privilege.

@PIRockford I started a DRIP account with Bell South in 1988. Then ATT bought Bell South. Kept it and reinvested and added to it for 30 years. It never achieved a capital gain position. Made some money on dividends but that is it.

I sold last year - before the dividend cut, because they are a WOKE corp and they own CNN and they have $364.864B total liabilities and I think 204B debt, and they are adding to the debt, not paying it off.

I will never go back to them. The debt will sink them.

Surprised to see this on NBC news

China is the world’s largest polluter, pumping out more greenhouse gases than every other industrialized nation combined…

China is coming under increasing pressure, not just because it is responsible for more than a quarter of global emissions, but because its promises to curb them have so far been less ambitious than those by the U.S., Europe and others
MyPrivilegeIsShowing profile picture
So is China about to jump on board at COP26? Not likely. As the NBC story goes on to point out, there’s good reason to think China won’t be making any big announcements anytime soon. In fact, they are currently cranking up the coal plants:

For weeks, blackouts have plagued millions of homes and businesses across 20 provinces.

Fallout from the crunch is a major worry ahead of COP26. Experts fear that the realpolitik of keeping the lights on means there’s less chance than ever of Beijing quitting coal in time. Indeed, Beijing has ordered all coal mines to operate at full capacity ahead of winter.
