How many conservatives on this board sold everything when Biden got elected in the belief that the world was coming to an end? I kept everything I had and added some so am now up 50% in one year. Thanks Sleepy Joe :-)
@tewright2012 I'm conservative, and I went all-in in early April 2020, and in May when INTC had a little run to $60 I sold a huge pile of (enough to buy a Tesla car lot) and paid a mountain in taxes, put the residual into REITs and other more-stable stocks. I'm usually about 80/20, but I went to almost 100% at that time. I don't fear Democratic administrations, as history has long proven that markets do very well when the Dems have the white house.

On Tuesday, millions of people across the country who could have the right to vote won’t be able to. Nearly 14 million legal permanent residents, not to mention hundreds of thousands of refugees and asylum seekers, have made their homes here and should be able to weigh in on local elections that have a direct effect on their everyday lives.

The New York City council is poised to allow this to happen, and to set a national example for how we integrate noncitizens into our communities. Last month the council held hearings on a bill that would allow certain noncitizens — lawful residents who have lived in the city for more than 30 days — to vote in city elections. In other words, any New Yorker with a green card could cast a vote for mayor, council member, comptroller and other local elected officials. The bill’s sponsors have a veto-proof majority, and support from Eric Adams, the Democratic nominee to be the city’s next mayor. The council should pass the bill before its term ends this year.

And then the rest of the country should follow suit."

Fully-vaccinated White House Press Secretary Jen Psaki announced Sunday that she has COVID with “mild symptoms,” garnering a remarkably passive reception from the press compared to the reportorial fear, trembling, and gnashing of teeth that followed former Press Secretary Kayleigh McEnany’s positive COVID test last fall.

CNN downplayed the news by finding experts, including the network’s own Dr. Leana Wen, a former president of Planned Parenthood, to explain why “It’s unlikely Psaki could have infected Biden with Covid-19.” Likewise, the Associated Press calmly listed all the precautions Psaki and the Biden team are taking, citing Psaki’s placid explanation that “I am disclosing today’s positive test out of an abundance of transparency.”

The non-story — and it should be a non-story, especially considering Psaki’s mild symptoms — hasn’t been treated like a big scare or a big scandal, and rightly so. We can all wish Ms. Psaki to feel better soon without fearmongering and blame-gaming.

But why couldn’t the corporate press have had the same, even-keeled reaction when Kayleigh McEnany, press secretary in the Trump White House, tested positive for COVID? History repeats itself, and when it gives us such glaring apples-to-apples comparisons, it’s a reminder of how Biden’s lapdog media don’t even try to hide the 180-degree spin.

NBC national security correspondent Ken Dilanian is the latest to suffer a public breakdown over a popular meme airing grievances against President Joe Biden.

On Monday, Dilanian shared on Twitter that he reached out to the U.S. Secret Service about gun dealers printing the phrase “Let’s go Brandon,” a euphemism for “F-ck Joe Biden,” on merchandise, with the labels “F@ck!” “Joe!” and “Biden!” in place of the typical “safe,” “fire,” and “auto” modes.

“They had no comment,” Dilanian wrote, engaged in another conspiracy after serving as a purveyor of fake news for NBC over the Russia hoax.

Stock buybacks were considered market manipulation by artificially inflating P/E ratios and were illegal until Reagan changed that in 1983. The build Back Better legislation at least puts a tax on these maneuvers that should still be illegal.

Former President Ronald Reagan once famously said: “Freedom is never more than one generation away from extinction. We didn't pass it to our children in the bloodstream. It must be fought for, protected, and handed on for them to do the same, or one day we will spend our sunset years telling our children and our children's children what it was once like in the United States where men were free.”

President Joe Biden has been in office a little over nine months and his administration's actions have steered the country on a direct path toward authoritarianism. His regime thinks it's okay to force Americans into choosing between taking a controversial vaccine or losing their livelihoods, to monitor our bank accounts for all transactions over $600 and to sic the FBI on parents who confront school boards about their childrens' curricula.

Needless to say, if the Trump Administration initiated any of those actions, he would have been impeached - again.

Democrats used the pandemic to change the way elections would be conducted, allowing the introduction of mail-in voting on a massive scale. This opened the door to what many continue to believe was a stolen election.

The dubious Biden victory has brought the U.S. closer than ever before to becoming a totalitarian state. The Biden Administration itself is the most serious national security threat America faces today.

What can we do about it?

Virginia and New Jersey voters can send a powerful message to this administration by getting to the polls on Tuesday to cast their ballots for Republican candidates Glenn Youngkin and Jack Ciattarelli. That would be a good start toward the restoration of sanity in the country.

Illinois reporting 77.7% of its Covid deaths last week were vaccinated.

77.7% is an astounding number by itself, but when you consider the Mayo Clinic‘s numbers indicate 54.4% of Illinois’ population is fully vaccinated, it’s easy to see why nobody in corporate media is touching this story. They are beholden to Big Pharma’s agenda, just like most in our government, Big Tech, academia, and the healthcare industry.

A new NPR/PBS NewsHour/Marist National Poll shows only 36% of Democrat voters want Joe Biden, who reportedly received a record 81 million votes just a year ago, to run for reelection in 2024. In contrast, the poll shows 50% of Republican voters want President Trump to run for reelection in 2024.

@PIRockford It would be fun to see Trump, who has never won the popular vote, become a three time loser and I'm not sure he could serve as president from jail. I guess there's no law against it.
